This place. She didn't know it and yet...she was sure she had heard of this place. 'Cocoon.' She thought to herself. Where was she in Cocoon, though...? The name of the place wasn't familiar to her. It didn't matter. she was so close to unlocking her memory...She sat there, thinking about how she could know this place. Was it connected to her memory? It probably was, but how?
Cocoonians...they don't like us Pulsians. Never, ever, try to go into Cocoon, Scara. Pulsian...Pulse? Then it hit her. The beautiful scenery, the dangerous times she lived in...because it was always inhabited by monsters. She lived in Gran Pulse. Much memories came flooding into Scara at once but...still that friend of hers was no where in her memory.
However, her voice. She heard it. If only she could hear that voice again...Scara sighed. She wanted to remember so badly. But her memory refused to tell her the name of this person, or even what she looked like. But at least she had a voice. That person...who is she? Scara looked around. This was a nice place to be, but now that she knew she would not be wanted here, it wasn't much use of staying.

If I am out of my way... In any circumstance, Serah was not planning on being swept up by the Calamity. She, after her latest encounter with the abnormal, was trying to live a normal life. Go to college; become a teacher; maybe finding that special someone. But, they Calamity shook her up, made her plans change. It had taken her house key. From years of use it was nearly a rusted brown, and she always had it with her. Except for now, as she wandered the streets of Bodhum, looking for her sister, Claire. She extrapolated that her sister was somewhere else; maybe she had been called to duty? Serah didn't know, but she would call her later, if she could find someone to borrow a phone from, since hers had been in the house. Serah appreciated her house key more when she didn't have it than when she did. The city was still bright and breathing, with people walking right past her. Of course, no one was able to stand still, unless you wanted to be plowed over. She learned that at an early age. Looking up, she guessed it was about noon. She hadn't eaten since she'd woken up in the middle of a patch of grass, her white tee full of grass stains that she covered with her sweater. Another thing she did not exactly expect was a nearby bench, which she promptly ran into. She was now sprawled across it, laying on the lap of an unknown, most likely surprised person. She blushed. How embarrassing! A muffled apology came out , then tried to get out of her compromising position.

'Scara, someone's approaching.' That voice shooked her. Vento...was he really here? No...her instincts took on his voice but it was too late. Vento would have been faster at telling her about Serah. Instead, the very surprised Scara almost knocked Serah off her lap. Scara stared at the girl. Was she tired, or perhaps just as clumsy as she was.
"Are you a-alright miss...?" She asked. It wasn't everyday someone came wandering up to her and falling in their laps. She could tell she was trying to say sorry to the still very shocked Scara. "I-It's okay...you look kind of tired...maybe you just need some rest." Scara didn't mind company, either.
For the last few days, she has met some interesting people. She also met new worlds and also started to repair her lost memories. However, she was feeling a little lonely lately, even with the meeting of new people. Though Scara wasn't a social butterfly, it was nice to have someone she could talk to, or at least, share in the moment.

"Oh, I'm fine, just a bit flustered. I haven't slept since I got here." she said, slowly getting up from her odd position. She walked over to the front of the bench, and, cleaning off her skirt, gave the girl a nice smile. She felt the need to at least aqquantance herself with this person; she hadn't made a good impression, but that didn't matter much. She just wanted to be friendly.
"I'm Serah Farron, nice to meet you. Do you live here in the city? I've never seen you around before, but then again, this is a huge city." she laughed, extending her hand to the girl. She took notice of little details; how flustered the girl was, even scared. She would try to be as nice as she could to the girl, no matter what trouble, if any, it brought her.

She hasn't slept since she got here...? that explained the tiredness. Scara scooted to one side of the bench."Please. Sit down." Scara said, smiling a bit. She didn't want the girl to collapse again so she figured she should be seated. But then she started to introduce herself. "I'm Scara Roshinto."
She was about to tell serah she was from Gran Pulse, but remembered that Serah was most likely a Cocoonian and thus, wouldn't like a Pulsian like her. "I'm traveling to try to find a lost friend of mine...s-so yeah. I'm not from around here." It wasn't a lie, per se, she just left out details of where she lived, that was all. It wasn't a lie, Scara told herself.
She didn't want to lie to someone that seemed so nice. Scara offered the seat next to her again, out of concern that the girl might fall again. Maybe even worse than that, Scara thought. What if she fainted from standing too much? scara didn't know where she lived so it would be hard for scara to carry her home...or the fact Scara was not the most physically able person, so carrying someone would be difficult.

Serah willingly took the seat, sighing a bit in relief as she sat down next to the girl. The people barely looked at her for a second, which she was glad of. When she was pronounced a l'Cie, everyone turned their heads, nearly staring at her. It was good to have things back to normal again, or at least as normal as they could be. It felt rare that she would meet a girl like this, so nice and worried for her. Normally, it was only the older woman who cared when they saw her lazily walking down the street. Everyone else just went their ways, not caring. It was a city, people had places to go, people to see. And not enough time to do it.
She listened to he girl's story, giving the girl eye contact. As soon as her blue eyes met Scara's brown eyes, they didn't leave their spot, even though she was tired. At least she could listen to the story, if not offer her help with her request. Her eyes got wider as she heard Scara was looking for a friend, her instinct to help kicked up.
"Well, what did they look like? Did both of you come from the same town?" she asked, her voice sympathetic and caring. She'd lost someone too, her sister, Lightning, or Claire. But at the moment, her needs could be withheld. She knew she was too tired to go search at the moment, but maybe if she got some sleep, they could go look for her friend. And, she thought, it was likely they would run into Lightning as they looked for her friend, and at Serah's pleading, might help look for the friend as well.

She was happy Serah was so willing to listen to her. There hasn't been many that even glanced at Scara, making her feel lonely. She remembered her friend would always care for her, watch her back, and Vento would always be there to guide her with his words. Having them both gone was foreign to her. But she would survive, she knew it.
Then Serah started to sprout questions. When Scara was about to speak, she realized something. The only thing she could recall was the girl's voice. Her image was always blurry or black, or even missing, from memories. "A-Actually...I'm suffering from amnesia." Scara decided to give her most of the truth, though she added a little lie as a precaution to telling her she was from Gran Pulse.
"I'm traveling yes but...to look for those memories. I can hear my friend's voice sometimes but...I can't see her face...I can't even remember her name. It's..." Scara didn't realize it but now, but she was starting to cry. Once those first tears hit her hand, they wouldn't stop. "It makes me feel that she wasn't worth remembering but...I know she is...she's in our hometown, somewhere, but even that, I forgot..."

"You suffer from amnesia? Shouldn't go you to see a doctor, then? I always heard that a tramatic head injury could cause amnesia." she said, concern flashing in her eyes. Of course, she was suffering from it too, not remembering her own fiance. She didn't remember him at all, though, so she was unaware of this problem. She was more worried for the girl. This sounded quite painful, and without realizing it, Serah hugged the girl.
Poor thing. Losing a friend was hard, especially like this. You had no idea how important they could be; or even if they were important at all. She frowned a bit, hoping that the same fate didn't await for her friends as well. She wanted to help this girl, but the only way she knew how was to hug her. Of course she'd brought this upon herself, but now she'd see it through to the end. She wanted to see Scara smile, and see her friends reunite. She wanted to stop the tears as she felt them hit her shirt. The strawberry-haired girl patted the other girls back, as if she was burping a baby.
"It's okay, let it out."

Should she go and see a doctor? Scara didn't know. Only parts of her memory were gone, and she had no money to go and see a doctor. She wasn't even sure it was a head trauma. However, Scara was pushing those thoughts away as the tears continued to flow. It was horrible...Imagine if her friend found out? Scara cried thinking those depressing images.
However, she was immediately comforted when Serah hugged her. She didn't know why, but the tears continued to flow as Serah patted her back. Did these sad feelings just suddenly come and start crashing like powerful waves? Scara eventually started to hug Serah back. Why was she letting a complete stranger hold her? Did it matter? To Scara, Serah was her friend, even if they met 5 minutes ago.
Scara cried for several minutes, slowly letting it subside as she sniffled. "At least I know she was important to me." Scara said, showing Serah a weak smile. "I think I'll be okay. Maybe it's all the craziness of the distorted world making my memory fuzzy." Scara said, taking one of her arms and rubbing her red eyes.

Serah felt even more pity for the girl. She was so cute and innocent, yet she had to go through this hardship, as if the Calamity wasn't enough. She started to softly pat the back of Scara's head, and when she let it all out, then when Scara finished, offered the Pulsian a tissue, smiling sympathetically. She felt a connection to this girl already, lost and hidden in the world that she knew nothing about. So, Serah would be there to help.
She almost felt like an older sister to Scara, as Lightning was to her. While they rarely ever had moments like this while Light was in the Guardian Corps., Serah knew that she cared in her own way. Yes, she had felt rejected when Light had yelled at her, or hated her for wanting to marry Snow, but she didn't want to be that part of Light. She wanted to be the caring part; if not a little more shown.
"Let's hope so. Have you had lunch yet?" she asked cheerfully, looking at the small resturant down the street. This girl was timid, so it seemed, but Serah wanted to get to know her. And what could be better than this?

Scara gratefully took the tissue as she sniffled into it, wiping her red puffy eyes with the said tissue. She was glad Serah was so kind to her. Even though she hadn't told her she was Pulsian, she never questioned about it or made her tell her where she was from, which really helped Scara not lie to Serah. Lying made Scara fell terrible, especially to friends.
Then she asked about lunch and Scara shook her head. However, Scara had no money with her - she usually just ate berries she found along the way or grasses that looked edible. That is how she survived in Gran Pulse, usually. There weren't many places that cooked food anymore and...Scara didn't like to eat meat due to the animals. She loved the animals and to hurt them by eating them was...cruel.
"But...I'm not hungry or anything!" Scara said, smiling. Then a loud rumble appeared, as if on cue, as Scara sighed at her own stomach. "I didn't eat breakfast either...b-but I have no money for lunch so...i-it's okay, I can eat later." Scara went from crying to very shy and conservative suddenly.
She was a roller coaster, sometimes.

"Hey, please, let me take you out to lunch. I'm kind of hungry; plus, I'd love to get to know you more." Serah said with a smile, dealing with the roller-coaster emotions quite well. She'd had her share of friends like that, and she knew Scara just wanted to be polite. Standing up, she offered Scara a hand. The road wasn't very busy, so she wouldn't be plowed over.
It was nice to make friends with people not from around here, Serah thought. While she hadn't done much traveling, now she had a lot of worlds to explore, all of a sudden. She didn't know where she would go first, probably to a neighboring country, one that wasn't too far away if she got homesick. She also needed to have friends in other places in case she was ever in need. Not that she would ever ask, but it was always good to know you had someone that you could depend on if it was ever needed.
Leading Scara down the street, Serah smiled and made her way through the crowds. Then, she looked twice, starting to cross the street until they made their way to the little restaurant. She turned to Scara. "I'll pay for you, don't worry about paying me back, okay? It's on me."

Scara couldn't turn down Serah's offer. She was so kind hearted and she wanted to know Scara better. That, and she was hungry. Scara would be very mean to run away, or something like that. "Alright." Scara said, agreeing to come with her for lunch. Scara took the offered hand, smiling more as she did as she was helped up.
Scara said her thank you for the hand as she followed Serah to wherever lunch would be. Scara hadn't been here long, and she wasn't paying attention to any food place, so she completely relied on Serah. After looking both ways, she followed Serah to the small restaurant. Scara wasn't into fancy, especially with food and clothing, so this was a perfect place for her.
However, even small restaurants wanted money. Scara didn't know how to solve that problem, until Serah spoke up. This surprised Scara. Why would someone that were strangers just recently want to treat her? Scara wanted to protest against it, but she was sure it was a losing cause."A-Are you sure? I'm...grateful. Thank you very much."

"Of course. It's the least I can do." she told Scara, giving her a reassuring smile as she ushered her to a small table in the corner. The table was a bit high up, and bar stools were used as seats for it. The noise of soft music flowing from stereos became more and more ambient as they sat down, and Serah handed Scara a menu. She smiled as she picked up her own, her eyes flicking from one place to another on the menu, looking for something appetizing to consume.
"So, this town that you and your friend both came from; where is it?" Serah asked, her dark icy blue eyes looking across the table at Scara, the menu already put away infavor of looking at the Pulsian. Serah's hands were neatly folded on the table, and a polite smile on her face. She wasn't trying to be intrusive, she just wanted to know Scara better.

This was an impressive place, even though it was a small restaurant. Scara had not been in a Cocoonian restaurant before. Pulsian restaurants could not compare. She tried not to look as amazed as how she felt for Serah could get suspicious. After all, Scara just forgot about her hometown, according to what she told Serah. There was no way Scara could have been anywhere else.
Scara stared at the strange tables and chairs but quickly got used to them, seating herself on one of them. "It's been awhile since I was last in a restaurant...it makes me feel I have never been in one before." Scara said. It was the pure truth; Scara has been to Pulsian restaurants before. Serah then surprised her with the question of her hometown.
Scara had picked up a menu and was about to read it when the question popped up, so she gently placed the menu down and closed her eyes. "Like I said, I forgot my hometown's name but...I can see it." Scara said, trying to describe how Gran Pulse looks like but then it hit her - Besaid. Costa de Besaid. She could use that.
'I'm so sorry...Serah.' Scara thought. "I remember a beach. It's got a lot of scenery to it and plenty of trees. There's a temple in the far back of the town. The people there were so nice." Scara opened her eyes. She had used up all her tears, thankfully, or else Scara might've cried thinking about her 'hometown'.
