"I am primarch Raines, Primarch of Cocoon and owner of the Lindblum. You may call me either primarch or Raines, either works with me."

"ey, that's pretty cute. how old are you, and where are ya affiliated?"
"I was born on November the thirtieth, and I'm twenty-four years old. I'm affiliated with Cocoon but who says I hate Gran Pulse?"

"young'un, are you? well then, i can deal. so... how bout you and me go on a date?"
"I swing over to my own gender, so unless you're male..."

"aaand.. what is your specialization?"
"I'm a fighter, but I am also the defender and the healer."

"cool, cool. i guess youre a little talented filly? i like 'em like that."
"... I'd rather you not stalk me. /playful tone"

"and on to the second section! how tall are you, exactly?"
"I'm taller than most men on Cocoon, at six foot six inches."

"ah, just three inches taller. hm. so, what's under your clothes? not that i wont find out for myself."
"Despite my size I'm not the most muscular man, but I still have muscle. I'm more or less slimmer than you would expect and I guess you could say I'm lanky under my uniform. I'm quite agile, too, but I don't look it. I have raven black hair, too, and pale green eyes, but some people say I have golden eyes. I don't know why..."

"okay, sorry. let's talk about some.. non - crude things? what's your personal style?"
"I quite like my Guardian Corps uniform, which is white with armour, though it's more for show than anything. Still, I can manage to fight in it perfectly fine. I also prefer wearing heeled boots for some odd reason, but only an inch, and I've gotten into the habit of wearing gloves at all times; fingerless or with fingers. I also like suits, but you don't always catch me wearing them in public, as I will wear clothes suited to Gran Pulse~"

"hey, you look like that celebrity... what was the name...?"
"Cid bathtub raccoon the third might be the name you're looking for."

"right! i remember now. you look just like them. except better, heh heh..."
"Well, people call me a pretty boy for a reason!"

"soo, do you like or dislike anything?"
"I greatly dislike the thought of being a puppet for the fal'Cie to use, and the thought of bringing about the end of Cocoon. Oh, and I'm not too fond of being alone, because I love company of a sort. I love the skies but also water, and I love freedom."

"ohmyjonas, me too! wow, thats such a coincidence. so have any dirty habits or secrets?"
"I guess you could say I have a habit of not sleeping much or at all. I'm an insomniac, you see. Anyway, a secret of mine... Well, I don't like it, but I was a Cocoon l'Cie tasked with aiding the Pulse l'Cie in destroying Cocoon. Bad times, horrible times..."

"coolness, yo. umm. home dawg. anyways. describe yourself."
"I'm actually quite friendly, unlike other Sanctum officers, and laidback. I'm calm and I can hide my anger, but I'm still a little mad from being a l'Cie -- I had mental breakdowns -- so you can see me losing my temper easily, or something. I'm willing to die for my friends and those of Cocoon to keep it safe."

"like dude! we're so compatible..."
"Hopefully I haven't been cloned. I don't want another me running round! /sticks tongue out"

"okay, let's rush through this. i'm thinking dancing? then, we can talk about rooms."
"... I see what you did there. I see those sexual advances. Dancing is passionate and rooms... well. /grins playfully"

"shh, if my boss knew about our secret romance... so. what's your heritage?"
"I'm from an upperclass family who moved to Eden fifteen years ago from a small village near Lake Bresha, on Cocoon. My parents both worked for PSICOM, but I took a different path and went to the Guardian Corps."

"wow, your family would love me! have anyone else in your family?"
"I have friends in the Cavalry, such as Rygdea. I do wonder where he's gone. Anyway, I'm friends with Oerba Yun Fang, and Snow Villiers, but no so much the others of their little group. I detest the previous Primarch, Dysley, who was actually the fal'Cie who cursed me to be a l'Cie, Barthandelus."

"oh. sounds horrible. haha. anything else important happen in your life?"
"I left school at fourteen to go into military academy, and at eighteen I took a flight test, and I passed, so I would be put into the Cavalry. But I also broke the previous record which had been held for fifteen years! At twenty-one I became the second in command, one step closer to toppling the Sanctum, and a year later the leader died, so I took command. I took a party of soldiers to Edenhall, however they died and I came out with the mark of a l'Cie on my right hand. My focus was really unclear at the time, but a year later I awoke one night with my Focus clear in my head. I was to aid the newly made Pulse l'Cie in the destruction of Cocoon. However, I went against my Focus and I fought the l'Cie upon the Fifth Ark, becoming a Cie'th hybrid in the process, but I became a crystal after the battle. The time I spent in crystal sleep was short, and I awoke in Eden again, with the Focus of creating destruction on Cocoon, while in the rank of Primarch. When the l'Cie invaded Eden, the Cavalry came into my room and I asked Rygdea to end my life, and he did. I died at twenty-three years old, but I woke up one year later... in this distorted world."

the lindblum slowly made its way through the sky, travelling at the speed it would be expected to have, due to all of the weight it carried in its huge shell. the airship however, like other airships, could reach a maximum speed of six hundred miles per hour, sometimes more if the pilot of the ship really pushed her. but primarch bathtub raccoon the third didn’t like that. he was fascinated with airships and ‘linda’ – the nickname of the lindblum – was one that really caught his eye. he didn’t want the ship to be destroyed, though that wouldn’t happen because it was heavily armoured for a guardian corps airship. he also didn’t want it sent to the scrap yard, somehow managing to fit there despite its large size.

there was nothing the now-small-in-size cavalry had to take care of. it was smaller than it originally was due to the soldiers being turned to Cie’th when they were on their way to kill orphan, rygdea included. that was some time after primarch had asked rygdea to shoot him, to assist the primarch of cocoon in suicide. suicide because he was unwilling to be a puppet of the fal’Cie barthandelus any longer. he wanted to break the strings that held him.

so he died in the siege of eden.

but a year later, something brought him back from the dead. it must’ve been a month ago when he ‘woke up’ to find himself in an abandoned city of sorts – mistaking it for eden then realising it wasn’t his home city – before passing out again and waking to find himself in a city known as rabanastre. he would’ve been alone there if he, or rather, THIS IS CAKETOWN hadn’t found him in the streets. THIS IS CAKETOWN was definitely considered a good friend of his, he quickly trusting her due to the similarities between her and rygdea. they had parted ways soon after making conversation, and primarch missed her. he felt that he could confide in the pulsian huntress, and gods above knew he needed someone to comfort him, to spend time with to drive off the stress of paperwork, rebuilding the crumbled society of cocoon and the sanctum, to drive off the nightmares. he hadn’t slept for two days straight, and before that he had only been getting three hours of sleep on a good night for a week or so. he hadn’t slept but he felt oddly energetic today. primarch thought he should be feeling rather... ‘dead’.

the dark haired primarch ran a gloved hand along the railing of the observation deck, momentarily looking over and feeling a familiar urge to jump off into the unknown skies and kill himself. he gripped the bar to prevent himself from doing so. the thought of rebuilding cocoon, to fulfil his dream of a fal’Cie-less world stopped him from doing so.

the fal’Cie provided the floating world with warmth, food, shelter, energy, but they also controlled it. the previous primarch – known as galenth dysley – was also a fal’Cie, plotting to have cocoon destroyed in order to bring back a being known as the maker, making primarch bathtub raccoon the third a l’Cie of his in order for him to guide six other l’Cie into destroying cocoon. however it was a year later when his focus truly started, him being marked at the age of twenty-two. he had no idea how he knew it started. part of him said that barthandelus – curse him – told him, another told him it was instinct, but he had absolutely no idea. there was a gap in his memory, and in many other places too.

a frown appeared on cid’s face as he felt the fine hairs on the back of his neck prickle and he turned his head. a thin black eyebrow raised at the sight that met his pale green eyes.
