There are hidden places in this world; places we can’t imagine exist until we set eyes on them. They are secluded in the deep frost of the high mountains, in the rain drenched jungles of the primeval rain forests and the windswept sun baked deserts. Some even exist a block down from the busiest streets of your city. They are places that hold the world’s secrets, where the fantastic still exists out of our eye sight and the gems of magic still hold sway.
The world is not as it seems. Mysterious happenings, beings of fantasy and fiction walk the earth, and heroes of great regard traverse the globe. For centuries these beings and events have been shielded from the general populace through eccentric stories and a magical veil that hid the most spectacular forms of mythos and magic from those who were not previously aware. However, something dastardly comes to this world and threatens the fabric that holds the unknowing serenity if the world together.
Unseen Arcana is a Modern Fantasy Role-Playing Game taking place in present day Washington D.C. The supernatural have existed side by side with the mundane, and the thin veil of ignorance and peace wanes against foes and abilities not seen for centuries. The serenity of the mundane world as we know it hangs in the balance on a teetering slope, those sworn to protect the secret and the people of the world struggling to maintain the balance in a world known only to a select few. The real question is…what side will you stand on when the veil comes crashing down?
