there's nothing to do here all just lie and complain Dear god, Alexandria was such a boring place. Specially since that Fang fellow ruined all of Cedric's fun. I mean what is wrong with that chick, he only robbed one little old helpless lady. He should be applauded, not punished! But the do gooder was already far from Cedric's mind. He found a lovely new place to play. One where self righteous women wouldn't get in his way, or so he thought.
The Moonflow was basically a wet dream for Captain Rackham. Sure the river was pretty and a wondrous sight, or something like that. But all the beautiful merchants were waltzing around without a care in the world. They peddled their wears to travelers seeking a shoopuf to traverse the river like there was no tomorrow. And sometimes, when they were really deep into a sales pitch or a big sale, the illustrious pirate swooped in and stole some of their finer wares. The best part? They didn't notice till he was long gone, whistling to himself while he pocketed his newest little prize.
Yet it was the giant pale blue elephants that really caught his eye. Giant hulking beasts they may be, but Cedric only saw profit. The Shoopufs, and their Hypello masters, practically had a monopoly on transportation across the river. And to no surprise it was a very popular river to cross for those who could not afford an airship. Furthermore from the rumors that floated about camp, the Shoopuf never ate. Instead the only sipped a bit of water now and then from the giant river that they lived in. A twisted smile spread on Cedric's face, he had a feel he could profit from this little situation.
Rubbing his hands in greed, Cedric singled out and approached a lone Hypello. With the grace and arrogance that only the illustrious pirate could posses he approached the innocent man, and threw an arm across his shoulders. "Say, it looks like your having problems with your Shoopuf. He seems a little tired, worn out." Cedric started, starting his sales pitch. Shoopufs looked rather difficult to steal, due to their sheer size. The man took a long glance over the Shoopuf, a frown formed on his face. "May be time to put the poor thing out of it's misery." He shook his head.
"But!" Rackham exclaimed as he took a few steps back, a lone white gloved finger raised. "I will take this shoopuf off your hands, and give you this wonderful box! Filled with treasure and gold!" He finished, as he held up a rather beautiful, and stolen, ornamental box. The blue toad creature quietly examined the box before saying, "No! No! No!" The Shoopuf owned almost screamed as he stomped his feet on the ground. "Yous a son of a shoopuf, yous is!"
A gasp of horror escaped Cedric's lips, "Why I never!" The pirate's hand felt to his waist, where his blood hawk .48 waited. The pirate had half a mind to shoot this disgusting frog creature, and he probably would.

there's nothing to do here all just lie and complain BANG! The deafening sound of a gun shot rang through out the small camp on the shores of the Moonflow. Gasps of horror soon followed along with a smug smirk on Cedric's face. Hm... I was right, I was going shot him. The wicked pirate mused to himself as he watched the Hypello's body crumple backwards and fall into the river. The shot was clean, perfect almost as it landed square between his disgusting bulbous eyes. Blood ran through the once pure river, likely tarnishing any precious memories anyone had of the river.
With his smoking gun still in hand, Cedric turned back to the woman behind him. She asked him some sort of question, but he was far to busy killing the annoying pest. Although when he saw Yuna's lovely face a very odd and unusual feeling swelled up inside of him. Regret. That girl, although she was a tad young was rather pretty. A shame really, he doubted she would even entertain the though of sleeping with him. Which was the man's only real source of regret, she was oh so pretty in that fragile and naive sort of way.
"Ah, everything is going swimmingly," Cedric said as he grabbed the ropes that hung down the side of the shoopuf. Without any real consideration of what the summoner, or the people around of him was doing, he began climbing up towards the basket on the creatures back. Which the ropes so kindly fastened to the Shoopuf's back. The giant creature began to slowly shake back and forth, clearly uneasy. It was like it knew that it's beloved master was just shot in the head. Yet it could do little to the pirate, who still had his gun in his hand.
After a minute or so of climbing Cedric stood proud on the top of the beast. He looked down at Yuna with a smug smile of satisfaction. "You see. I am killed that frog... thing, so I could steal this Shoopuf to make a tidy profit for myself, savvy?" Cedric said as he turned his back to the summoner. After all what was a teenage girl going to do against the immortal pirate? He killed her and he could certainly kill this summoner without a hunt of regret. He didn't even love Yuna. With a little hop Cedric landed in the small seat atop the Shoopuf's head. Sitting down he took the reigns of the beast into his white gloved hands. If Yuna didn't do something soon Cedric would get away with not only grand theft Shoopuf, but murder.
Wait, there was one last thing to attend to before the man departed. The man dramatically rose to his feet on the head of the giant water beast. One hand remained firmly grasped to the reigns, so that he could maintain his balance in case the thing decided to shake. The other hand did as much talking as the man himself. First waving Yuna down to catch her attention, although he doubted that he lost it to start with. He was a rather dashing man, then breaking out into the fine dance of hand talking. Moving ones hand along with their words. "Ah, I almost forgot something." Captain Rackham loudly announced for all to hear, although it was clearly directed at Yuna.
"I believe I have spare room in my bed chambers tonight, and I dare say I would love the company of such a fine lass of you. Although I'm afraid to inform you that you won't get much sleep." A twisted smile of pleasure was on the illustrious pirate's lips. He was only exaggerating... A little... Okay, he was flat out lying. The man demanded at least seven hours of beauty sleep and often shot whomever was foolish enough to wake him from his slumber. And his first mate was planning some kind of romantic evening with him. But first mate be damned, Yuna was such a soft tender young lass, and his First Mate was an ugly git.

[/b] Yuna cried, while covering her mouth. Blowing past the man, Yuna went to the water where the hypello had been thrown. Why! Yuna thought. She quickly turned her head toward the stranger and the horror was replaced by a frown. Of all the newcomers she had met, this was the first to actually commit such a horrible crime. Looking back at the hypello a sudden realization hit her, a sending was needed for the hypello. Only one thing was stopping her from performing the sending, this person was stealing the shoopuf. Quickly looking around for someone who was not in a complete panic, Yuna stood up and looked at him. "Please, find the other hypellos that are around. The man stealing the shoopuf must be stopped." Yuna said. The hypellos were fast swimmers and could control a shoopuf, right? If this was truly so, stopping him would be easy. The simple fact still remained, he had something like the machina in Spira. Maybe if I distract him, he'll be to distracted to see the hypellos in the water. As she started approaching the shoopuf, she heard him speak. In hopes it was an apology or reasoning of what he did, she looked up to listen to him. The offer that he said did confuse her a bit. Of course she was thinking innocently of course, he had just said company. Why? she thought. After a moment it hit her, a deep red blush hit her face as she thought about it. Although, she simply kept blushing and went to the ropes where the man had climbed. Of course this was not her accepting his offer, just in hopes to stop him and/or distracting him until the hypellos arrived. Getting her grip on the ropes, she started her struggling climb. Was hard enough climbing in a dress, but climbing ropes was a whole new thing. After a few moments the summoner finally reached the top. I'm sorry, she thought to the hypello, a sending will be there for you shortly. Looking at the man, she had the look of confusion, also a bit of anger, on her face. "Why! Why did you murder him?" Yuna demanded and held her hand over her heart.[/ul]

there's nothing to do here all just lie and complain The crowd lurched and swayed about. Perhaps in fear? Probably. They weren't used to this kind of death. They all witnessed the hapless merchant being dragged away by a fiend every few days. But cold blooded murder? Now that was different, that was terrifying. And so the people reacted, screaming and running about like chickens with their heads chopped off. As the girl, the very same that Cedric invited to his bed began talking to the few sane members of the crowd, Cedric found his spare hand creeping to his waist. Once there it withdrew his beloved Crimson Hawk .48, the crown jewel of Cedric's collection.
He thought the summoner was gone, never to be seen again. Yet before the water beast was able to leave port the delicate little flower clung onto it's side. Her face was still beat red from... What was that emotion? Ah embarrassment, something that Cedric was unfamiliar with. She asked him a question, a simple one really. Why did you do it. His response? A groan. Not this dreadful question he thought to himself. All the ladies all ways asked him 'why did you kill my husband?!' or 'why did you kidnap my kid?!' or 'why did you make that old lady walk the plank?!'. It was all very simple really, and the illustrious pirate was growing weary of explaining himself.
Yet this was a chance to show off, and one where he could profit from. With gun in hand, his arm dramatically rose up until the tip of the gun pointed at the bright fire ball in the sky. Another loud bang issued from the gun, as he fired a warning shot into the air. The crowd grew dreadfully quite, terrified that the pirate would shoot them too. "Now listen up everyone, I dare say I do not want to repeat myself." He said rather nonchalantly, despite the fact that he put a bullet in that disgusting frog creature's head only moments ago. But that was the beauty of his gun, not only could it dispose of the unsavory ones but it made the dredges shut the hell up.
"For those of you wondering why I just shot that thing in the face listen up, especially you. The pretty one." His last words were accompanied by him waving the tip of his gun in the general direction of Yuna. Anyone who knew the basics of guns could tell that Cedric's safety didn't exist. It wasn't off, his gun just completely lacked one. Coupled with the fact that revolvers were known for their hairpin triggers it was very likely that Cedric may accidentally shoot Yuna in the process, not that he would care. "I killed that disgusting little frog man because he had something I wanted, and he wouldn't give it to me. Savvy?"
"Sooo..." Cedric said, drawing the gun away from Yuna and waving it in small circles near his head. "If I said something like give me all your gil, or I'll blow your head, what do you do?" Cedric asked, pointing his gun at a random woman in the audience. She rushed forward, "We give ya' our gil?" She asked, eager to not get her brains blown out by this strange machina. A broad smile spread on Cedric's face in response, and he did a little golf clap. The reigns of the shoopuf still in his non-gun hand.
"Very good dear, now lets take that hypothetical situations and make it real. Only this time instead of killing you," Cedric made sure to put stress on the last word, a nice dramatic flair. His gun moved to once again point at Yuna. She was an easy target really, clung to the side of the water beast. "I will blow this girls brains out, even if I would much rather have her in my bed then any of you. And that's how piracy works Savvy?." A twisted chuckle escaped Cedric's lips. The crowd seemed to hestiate, not sure if he was still ranting or actually making a demand. Then Cedric snapped at them, inspiring only more fear. "Well what are you waiting for?! I thought you liked this one alive!"

[/b] Yuna quickly said and reached out her arm in desperation. "If it's Gil you want I'll give you all the gil I have." Yuna quickly said. She listened to the woman and then looked at the man once more. Yevon was right to forbid machina if they were used like this, she thought. This man had to be stopped. Why would he want to hurt innocent people and then rob at the crime scene. For a brief moment Yuna felt relief as he pointed the gun away from the woman. As the gun was purposely pointed at her, her hands slowly went back up and she felt her life in danger once more. In his bed? Yuna thought. A blush formed on her cheeks once more. "I have 560 Gil, that's all I have." Yuna said slowly.[/ul]

there's nothing to do here all just lie and complain "Oh cry more," Cedric simply said as he saw the depressing frown on Yuna's face. A soft wicked chuckle formed at his lips. "Really, I beg that you do. I simply enjoy the water works." He let his sentence end by counting his wicked laughter. This girl had a real kick to her. It reminded him of the good ol' days. When he was so naive and young, and oh so weak. This Yuna girl even had a bit of her inside of her. That deep compulsion to help everyone.
Maybe that's why Cedric did what he did next. He was really a sucker for the nice girls, especially the pretty little brunets. You know, she was a brunet too. A lot like you dear. He almost said the words, they were just on his lips. And anyone else that wasn't more oblivious then Quina at an all you could eat frog buffet could tell. His wicked features dulled for a moment, and were replaced with an emotion that Cedric fled from for decades. Sorrow.
He repositioned his gun. The look of sorrow on his face hiding beneath his facade of cruelty. He would not allow his past to show, he would not allow the memories of her to return. The memories of her death. They belonged to a different man, a weak man. The very same one that Cedric left for dead all those years ago. "But if it makes you feel better darling, Gregory would have truly loved you." He said, speaking the name of the dead man again. His old name.
Maybe, just maybe he could turn his life around. Be that person that Gregory always wanted to be. He could settle down with this Yuna girl, she was just like her anyways. It would be just like before the Court of Shadows entered his life... Except for the occasional sacrifice of course. No. he thought, his features turning to stone. Masking his own inner turmoil. He could never go back. Gregory would be disgusted by all that he did, all the lives that he took, and all the others he ruined. So he was left with no choice, to do what he always did to hide himself from Gregory. To make sure that he stayed where he was supposed to.
"Well, duh. What did you really think a pirate would want this damnable shoopuf for? I intend to take all the others, and run a little monopoly. Soon after I will find a tidy little profit for myself, and you could be my Queen," He cooed, the shoopuf still slowly moving forward. His features returned to the same as before. Just as wicked, just as evil, and the lust for gil in his eyes. "So if you wouldn't be to kind, I would drop all your gil on the ground. And hopefully, just for your sake dear, we will make it across before my men get restless." He let another laugh interrupt his speech. "They are just dying to draw some blood, and I don't think I can get them to wait much longer."
