Roxas was at a loss, here he was walking around Radiant Garden for reasons he did not understand. He felt- as though something was pulling him here- something in his heart... Or so- the heart he shared with Sora. He didn't want to admit it, he denied the fact that he was connected to Sora so tightly. He-even after the realization in the past, had come to loathe his existence in Sora's shadow. No one saw him- they saw Sora! The happy-go-lucky idiot who believed that the light and friendship was the only answer!
What gave him the right? What gave him the right to live so freely? Happily and supported by everyone?! Roxas had friends- he wouldn't lie, but each met some sort of end... Sora here still had his friends, still had people supporting him with no distrust or disloyalty. He didn't have to worry about being lied to- he didn't have to worry about anything! Darkness rose around his fingertips wafting in the air as he clutched his hands into fists.
Head down eyes staring at the cobbled ground. Teeth clenched in anger he felt the hot heat of anger rise up in his chest as he suddenly grasped it where his heart was supposed to be. He wanted to cry... it wasn't fair! Why him?! He didn't ASK to be this way! He didn't ASK for any of it! 'Why... No matter what I do... I can't reach the light...' He felt his mind seeping into despair, anger, and fear...
The darkness continued to seep into his being making him feel hollow inside, as though nothing mattered that the only happiness he'd get if was if Sora was in pain... Dark thought flitted through his mind as he thought of ways to hurt his other- his friends maybe? Riku, Donald, Goofy Kairi- 'No!' He thought harshly destroying that thought ruthlessly. If he hurt Kairi- then that would be like hurting Namine! And for some reason- Roxas couldn't bare doing that...
Pushing the darkness from his mind he continued stumbling through the darkness of the night. Blue eyes staring at nothing as he continued on. Suddenly he felt the coldness of water. Rain began to pelt down slowly as he stared at the sky... the sky- even the heavens mocked him... The rain fell down faster and soon in torrents as Roxas closed his eyes mind falling back into his time in The World That Never Was, this same feeling... He wanted satisfaction- satisfaction in knowing he existed and that Sora- that Sora could feel some form of misery in his life...
Just this once...
Before he realized it he was in the city square, his head now face towards what was in front of him he felt as the cold rain cascaded down his face as his leather and boots squelched under the slippery rain. For a moment there was nothing but silence and for once...
Roxas felt at peace.
And how soon this peace would be shattered in an instant... [Tag;; Sora! Notes;; Yay~ Angst and rain! Perfect setting! C:]

x x ------ walcott, don't you know that it's insane don't you want to get out of cape cod out of cape cod tonight?
"Yuuuuuu-ffie! Aerith? Cloud? Cid? Merlin? Leeeeeeeeeeeeoooonnnnnn! Anybody?!
"Wow," Sora sighed, hands propped behind his head as per usual as he strolled down the main avenue of the newly-repaired Radiant Garden. "The Restoration Committee did a really good job... where are they, anyway? Guys?"
Huh.
Pit. Pit pat. Pit pat patter-
Sora sighed as the first drop of water landed just to the right of his nose, eyes darkening slightly at the realization that he was going to get pretty soggy pretty soon if he didn't find Merlin's house. There was nothing wrong with rain... when he had somewhere to take shelter, of course.
It was eerily quiet. Almost creepy. Creepy enough that when he jogged into what must be the main square (having decided that running was definitely the way to go - get places faster, and probably less wet; his logic was odd like that) and saw a shadowy figure ahead of him, his first thought was Crap! Heartless!
But it wasn't, and lucky enough that he hadn't transitioned into summoning the Keyblade... 'till he realized that said figure was clothed in an Organization cloak.
At which point his reaction was nearly the same, except Crap! Nobodies!, until it then occurred to him that Riku and King Mickey both wore those same cloaks at various points. Too tall to be Mickey, but could it be... Riku?
He'd skidded to a dead stop, but now he made to approach, still wary - could be a friend or an enemy. As he got closer, though, it became obvious who it was; his hood was down.
"... Roxas?" he said at last, blinking both with the water in his eyes and confusion, veritably shouting as he approached the other - his Other - from behind. A smile broke out across his face, unaware as he was of Roxas' current thoughts. "Hey, what are you doing here?"
One hand was raised partially above his eyes to shield them from the rain coming down, but he must look as miserable as a drowned rat with the way his naturally spiky hair was drooping, waterlogged. Maybe he can tell me what's going on!
Sora wasn't even going to begin to ponder how it was that Roxas could physically exist; all of it went right over his head.

Roxas stared through the ran eyes lost as his mind was stuck in his thoughts. He barely registered the eeriness of the quiet area, or the rain pelting down on his head soaking him to the bone. It didn't even phase him when he heard a voice call out to him. "... -oxas?" He recognized that voice... but where did he hear it before?
No it couldn't be...
Blue eyes darkened as he realized who the person to the voice was... "Sora..." He spoke quietly almost above a murmur as his fists clenched once more eyes trained on the brunette boy with the outmost hate and contempt. Why? Why was he here?! Couldn't have some sort of peace? To be alone to his thoughts? 'Wait...' No- this was perfect! A feeling of anger was mixed with anticipation as he felt the need to summon Oathkeeper and Oblivion. The urge rising with every small step he took towards the keyblade master.
"Hey, what are you doing here?"
He stopped, getting an odd thought unlike himself. It felt like something-something Larxene would do... Play with him before he attacked... He couldn't help but grin mentally- that was perfect. Casually he put his hands behind his head mimicking what Sora was doing moments before the rain started a small grin was on his face hiding his true hate and rage behind a thinly veiled surface.
"You know... hanging around."
He pulled his arms down to his side as he questioned the brunette wondering on just how much Sora knew of the current situation. 'Not much probably...' He grimaced- Sora always had to be told what was happening to grasp the situation... He was slow! "What about you? Why are you here?" 'Come on Sora, I know your not THAT clueless?'
Though... He's been wrong before...

It didn't take a rocket scientist to notice that something was up with Roxas - but even so, Sora didn't think about it too hard, brushing it off as he was wont to do when he wasn't focusing on the matter. Still, he did at least blink when Roxas began to approach him.
"Hey... um, you okay?"
Then the other paused, deciding on something else; shifting into a pose that of course Sora would recognize, easily mirroring the light-dwelling keyblader's own quirk of folding his hands behind his head. It looked... wrong, however. The smile, too - like it fell flat.
That's right. Nobodies... they can't feel.
It was odd that he'd forgotten that, of course, but then again he didn't always connect Roxas (and Kairi, too) immediately to the Nobody state of being. Supposedly he knew it, instinctively - that the two of them were different than the (rest of the) likes of Organization XIII and their henchmen.
Of course, it wasn't that he knew either of them all that well. He and Roxas - they'd only met once, face-to-face, in The World That Never Was. Xemnas's castle. But maybe it was the fact that Roxas was his Nobody, that he so firmly believed that the blond was capable of emotion.
Sora couldn't imagine what it would be like not to have feelings, that was.
His suspicions only fractionally roused, the brunette folded his arms, resting his weight on his back leg as his hair drooped even lower in front of his eyes. "Hanging around in the rain? I don't get it."
Roxas spoke again, and at that, the brunette moved, jerking a thumb at himself to emphasize his statement. "I'm exploring. Riku and Naminé are missing again, and I think something happened to the worlds. I never knew they could be combined... Someone probably messed with Kingdom Hearts again, which means I gotta take care of it. If I can find His Majesty, he can probably tell me what's going on."
There was the blond's first hint as to how, precisely, Sora's memories had been jumbled. That was, if he caught the mix-up of names.
"The Organization... are they all back, too?"
How like him to just forget about their strange location, standing in the rain in the middle of the night. Roxas called him "slow" - he didn't know the half of it.

He- He really didn't know? Roxas frowned as he listened to the brunette speak about finding his friends and the king. But wait- Namine? Didn't he mean Kairi? What was up with the idiot this time? Deciding to file that away for later use he pulled his hood up to have his head shielded from the rain. But still- didn't he realize that none of them were here?
Donald, Goofy, King Mickey- they wouldn't be here now- or he would of seen them... Deciding not to speak his mind on that subject, he closed his eyes trying to reign in his emotions. It hurt just standing here in front of him... In front of his main source of pain. He just wanted it all to stop!
"The Organization... are they all back, too?"
The Organization... He say Zexion at one point and as Demyx, and Larxene- but he hadn't seen hide nor hair of Axel... Axel... Where was he? Was he okay? Roxas was quiet for a moment finding it the best time to just keep his mouth shut- and let his heart guide him... "Yeah..." He finally spoke. "They're here too..."
He walked slowly closer to the brunette as he summoned Oblivion followed by Oathkeeper as he spoke. "But you forget..." In a flash he was in front of Sora preparing to swing Oblivion down upon his form. "I'm a Organization member too!"
Number Thirteen... The Key of Destiny... Roxas.

"Riku? I defeated a Riku once."
"You what?"
Unbidden, the memory came to him as Roxas replaced his hood, and Sora at least had the presence of mind to brace himself. He may get a bad rap, but he wasn't quite so stupid as everyone liked to say; naivety and optimism could be misconstrued as foolishness.
"Yeah... They're here too..."
And the brunette gritted his teeth, dropping into a guarded position as a flash of black and purple lightning first interrupted the uniform blackness, broken only by raindrops, closely followed by a bright sheen of pure ivory from Roxas' other hand.
"But you forget... I'm an Organization member too!"
Sora hadn't yet summoned the Kingdom Key, even as Roxas drew Oblivion and Oathkeeper. But when the hooded blond struck, his Somebody was forced to act, half-duck-rolling out of the way and reaching out as if to block the Keyblades with his hand.
A flash and a stream of white light, and a metallic CLANG resonated as he just barely avoided a slice in the calf. The Keyblade was held in his left hand, parallel to his left leg as he sank into a partial crouch, looking up at his Nobody in disbelief.
"We don't have to fight, Roxas - we don't have to be enemies!"
Naivety, indeed. Still, sky-blue eyes shimmered with conviction as he spoke. "I think you know it too: fighting won't make either of us happy. Not in the end."

Roxas glared underneath his hood as bright blue eyes shined with hate. He gritted his teeth as he applied more pressure on the kingdom key. "We don't have to be enemies?" He growled out as he attempted to knock the other teen onto the ground with another powerful swing with Oathkeeper. "You're wrong." "We will be enemies as long as YOU exist." He thus began his assault once more attempting to smash the keyblades into Sora's skull.
He lessened up a bit as he felt slightly hesitant, before squashing that feeling down without mercy. Nobodies couldn't feel after all right? "Why does it matter to you anyway Sora? I'm a nobody right? Nobodies can't feel!" He spoke harshly almost sarcastically as he backed away a bit keyblades down at his sides.
"You're such an idiot Sora... It's your sickening naivety that makes me want to hurt you even more." Pointing Oblivion at him as a gesture he spoke once more. "Everything you have- is something I will never get. Friends, family! I'll never have that because I'm in your shadow!" The darkness fueled his emotions as he swung out his keyblades once more, preparing to attack. "So I'm gonna take everything you hold dear! Starting with your life!" And with that Roxas charged...

In a moment reminiscent of a similar situation, Sora was trapped under the onslaught of Roxas' strength, with only his own Keyblade to stave it off. His Nobody's incredulous response, and another powerful swing later -
his foot slipped, his brace failed and guard fell, and he tumbled hard to the rain-slicked stone beneath them. The Kingdom Key skittered away beyond Sora's reach, not that he was in any position to retrieve it. His elbow came down sharply, and the brunette heard a minor crack, but ignored it as he pushed to roll out of the way, aware of how big a target he currently was.
Sora narrowly avoided being beaten to a pulp by the twin pair of Keyblades, utilizing a slight and unusual break in Roxas' offense to regain his footing once more.
"Why does it matter to you anyway Sora? I'm a nobody right? Nobodies can't feel!"
The brunette's left elbow gave another uncomfortable twinge, but he brushed that off too, shaking his head both to free the water from his hair and signal his rejection of that comment.
"Yen Sid told me that, but I know now that he's wrong. He has to be."
Slowly he rose to stand again, jaw set against the bruises he knew to be forming. He took in Roxas' next comments with a steely impassiveness, despite his ire at having been called naive - no matter how true it was. But he couldn't hold his tongue forever. With a flash, the Kingdom Key was summoned back to his hand just as Roxas raised his own again, and he argued back, equal parts pleading and defiant.
"You're wrong! Roxas, you have people you care about! Axel, and Kairi - isn't that proof that you can feel?"
Sora paused and swallowed heavily.
"Please, Roxas, don't make me fight you. I have people I care about too, people I have to find. That's why... I can't lose here!"
Gaze hardened to hide the pain gnawing at his heart, the brunette leaped forward as well, Keyblade first, resolving that he would do whatever it took to make sure Riku and Naminé were safe.
Throwing as much weight as he could behind his two-handed grip, Sora gave a single, mighty swing, as if trying to cleave the very air itself in two.
