Zell awoke, scratching his fingers through his blond hair. He had been sleeping at the Garden after a night in the Training Area. He jumped out of bed, his normal clothes still on. He tried to remember what he fought last night or even most of the night, period. He shook his head to clear it, but to little avail. "The hell, man! Did I take on that T-Rex thing," he asked himself aloud. He walked to the door of his dorm, opened it, and left, looking around. He started walking towards the center of the Garden where all the places were connected and turned left, going the direction of the Training Area. "I'll get you next time," he said, walking past, making way to the directory, a bustle of people walking by. He sat on a ledge, trying to nudge his headache away. "Guess I'll go see Nurse Kadowaki, then I'll come back for ya, T-Bone," he said, standing again, walking off to the Infirmary. He wondered if anyone else was with him and hoped to see someone there. He had a feeling something might've gone wrong if he was knocked out or something. A boy ran into him and kept running, ignoring him completely. Zell raised a fist and looked back at him, then lowered it. "Tch... bastard," he remarked, continuing his walk, turning left again, going straight into the infirmary.
((OOC: Hopefully, that was done in the right length and everything. Crappy computer won't let me get far to this site, but it'll let me post this. If I did anything wrong, I encourage anyone to point it out. Nicely, please. I promise to make the best Zell since Zell himself. I can type more; I'm just horrible at starters))

Rinoa sighed and turned over in the plain white and blue bed. She hadn’t been sleeping very well and had come for some medicine to help drift her off but apparently she wasn’t allowed it. And just like a child she’d sulked and stamped her feet on the ground demanding it was within her rights to know whether or not she could take it. Apparently the trainee doctor wasn’t 100% convinced with this and wanted a second opinion, “It’s just with your...condition...” They would say, their voice trailing off and their expression clearly worried as Rinoa snapped and scolded them there and then.
Pulling herself together she apologised reluctantly, turned her back on them and wandered into an empty room. There she threw herself onto the bed and curled her body into a ball thinking about her time here, wishing they would all forget. It wasn’t a condition, she knew they were being cautious with the trouble the other Sorceresses had caused but she wasn’t one of those, her intentions were not to harm anyone. Here she lay alone, imagining all the things she wanted to say to people and all the great things she wanted to do to prove to everyone she was kind and not like that.
Eventually she leant up, propping herself up by one arm, someone had come into the Infirmary and was speaking loudly. She recognised the voice but was unsure of who it was and couldn’t make out anything from the gaps between the curtains. She sighed again and sat up properly on the bed, her manners left her and she let her boots upon it also, bringing her knees to her chest and hugging them. She hated feeling alone; she absolutely hated it more than anything. Her eyes shut tight and she tried not to cry as she thought of Squall, was he dead? Had he been lost in the time-warp? And what about the others too...what happened to everyone?

Zell walked into the center of the infirmary, spotting Kadowaki. He stumbled a little but regained balance, holding his head. His head was burning by now, like a migraine from Ifrit himself. He sat in a chair close by and waited for her to recognize his presence. She eventually turned to him from another patient. "I need something, anything for my head. Hell of a migraine," Zell requested, hanging his head. She nodded and went to a cabinet, easily picking out some potions and turned back. She handed it to him. "Eat healthier. Too much grease in your hot dogs will wilt your mind," she said, then returning to her other patient. "The hot dogs aren't the problem. Just slept wrong, I guess," he said, drinking the potions. He felt as though there might be another person around. But then, he hadn't seen Squall or Selphie or anyone all morning. After all they've gone through so far, you would think they'd be close as ever. Maybe they're ignoring him or ditched him. He's always tried to be friends with everyone. He had hoped he was good friends with someone, at least. "What am I thinking? They're probably training or planning or something," he told himself. "Hey, Kadowaki. Squall or Selphie, maybe even Irvine show up today?" Kadowaki poked her head out for a minute. "None of them, but Rinoa's just over there. Now, would you please keep it down," she asked, a little annoyed. He looked over to the bed she must've been referring to. "Rinoa? You there," he asked, standing up, his migraine fading.

Her heart beat against her chest fairly quickly as she heard voices outside. For some reason she was nervous to actually meet one of the group now. Her eyes opened slowly and she looked towards the closed door, or at least what she thought was closed, she had then realised it was just ajar. Still, she would only look at the small crack at the bottom hoping to see movement so she could prepare herself for what would come next. She didn’t want to be told any bad news – but she didn’t want to be alone either.
Rinoa ears pricked up at the sound of voices outside the room, she couldn’t make them out but she was sure it was a man and a woman. Slowly she lifted her head and uncurled her body slightly so that her legs were stretched out in front of her while her hands lazily rested upon her knees. Slowly a shadow had crept into view and was edging towards the door but yet didn’t get close enough to enter. She concentrated as much as she could, ready to ask who this ‘intruder’ was, she wasn’t interested in being disturbed by another trainee dr.
“Rinoa? You there.”
Her eyes widened and instinctively her legs dropped off the bed ready to rush and pounce on the stranger. The curtains were drawn so she still couldn’t see him but she was sure, almost one hundred percent even that it was the high spirited blonde. Her boots hit the floor with a thud as she rushed to the door and pulled it open quickly nearly catching her foot and arm on it as it swung open. The dark haired girl whirled herself right out of the room and caught sight of him with his blonde hair and strange tattoo.
“Zell!” Her grin spread across her face and she sprung towards him, arms outstretched and wrapping them around him, “I thought I was the only one coming back here!” She cried and hugged him tightly, she had so many questions about Squall, the others and himself of course. “How are you? How long have you been here?!” she asked whilst letting him go. “Just...just tell me everything!”

Zell opened his arms and hugged her, lifting her in the air a bit. It was good to see someone for a change. Perhaps she knew where the others were. But right now, he was focused on her. "Hey hey. Calm down a bit. I've only been here a night since being back home in Balamb. Galbadian soldiers were around but I dunno why. Figured I'd come back here. The last thing I remember was being with the group yesterday near the directory, then nothing. How I feel, figured we were training last night and I got flanked by a Rex," he explained, looking at her. "Guess I was wrong. Know where the others are? 'Cause now I'm confused." He released her and put an open palm to his head. Only one coming back here? Just what happened and how long was he really out for? Maybe she had some answers for him, maybe she didn't. And what did it have to do with Galbadia showing up all of a sudden? Zell hated not knowing what was going on, but at least he wasn't alone now. "Hey, what are you in here for anyway? Wanna just go for a walk," he asked, smiling. Maybe if he walked around, he'd remember something. Not much else to do. He stretched and walked to the door, opening it. "If we're really lucky, Irvine will stay missing, huh," he joked a bit, trying to keep her mood lightened.
((Sorry for my suckiness at details. ><))

[We’re huuuugely late on this, but Esthar has been flattened and would be important news for them both! We should incorporate that into the thread, yeah?]
The hug had comforted her and she closed her eyes tightly as she was lifted into the air, Zell had been like a brother to her. He, like most of the others, had known of her feelings for Squall before he himself did, it was that obvious. Only, Zell had tried to help her copy the lion ring that Squall carried (and she now wore around her neck) it was personal to her, she’d hoped to become just as strong and courageous as the lion – and Squall. Perhaps she’d proven it in some ways but mostly it just made her feel closer to him even though he wasn’t here. But seeing Zell, one of her best friends, was a wonderful feeling in which cleared her mind from the thoughts of being lonely – if only for a moment.
"Hey hey. Calm down a bit. I've only been here a night since being back home in Balamb. Galbadian soldiers were around but I dunno why. Figured I'd come back here. The last thing I remember was being with the group yesterday near the directory, then nothing. How I feel, figured we were training last night and I got flanked by a Rex, guess I was wrong. Know where the others are? 'Cause now I'm confused.""
Rinoa blinked as she let go and tried to take all his rambling in, digest it and then answer his questions, but she had no idea what he was going on about. “Galbadia?” She finally answered, “What are they doing in Balamb?” She began to pace but instead twirled herself around to keep her from wandering away from Zell and the conversation. Steadying herself she answered a little more, "What do you mean about ‘the group’? More SeeD? I haven’t seen everyone since we defeated Ultimecia, I remember searching for Squall but I lost him and came here, everything out there Zell,” She pointed towards the window, “everything has changed, there are new places and I think we’ve lost some of our own. I met someone from another world, Alexandria, the world is changing Zell and I don’t understand why.”
She slowly dropped her arm to her side, she wasn’t sure where that came from, “So no...I haven’t seen anyone else, I’ve been waiting here for someone to return...and you’re the first.” Rinoa dropped her gaze to the floor and started tapping the tip of her boot on the floor, slightly ashamed she’d gotten annoyed. “Please walk with me then...I think we both need to get our head around what’s going on. Tell me what you saw when you came here? Was Balamb in one piece? Why do you think Galbadia are interested in Balamb again?”
“Just take my mind off Squall, please...” She thought to herself.
Rinoa shut her mouth and stepped out of the infirmary, she smiled warmly at his comment about Irvine, she knew he slightly irritated Zell but on the other hand also knew they were all in this together. She stayed silent for a while, just listening to whatever he had to say, she had blurted out enough and needed to listen and understand what was going on. For the first time in a while she thought about her father and felt guilty it hadn’t bothered her before. Everyone around her seemed so strong and yet she couldn’t hold herself together without them. But then, that was how it had been for a long while now.
Perhaps it was a time to change.
