It wasn’t the first place she’d chosen to show up at but beggars couldn’t be chooses right now, things were a little complicated to say the least. She wanted some time before she started showing up to her old friends, she knew it was a hard thing to get your head around however she was still confused too. She had no warning for this really and had no answers; if she met anyone they’d want them and she wouldn’t know what to say. So right now she was doing what she felt was best, she was avoidingpeople for the time being so she could just get used to feeling alive.
The reason Nibelheim was one of the last places she wanted to be right now was because of its connection to Tifa and Zack...or Cloud. She grimaced as her head pounded trying to piece together the memories of them both; it was hard to find a place for them here. But him, he dealt with her death so badly, how would he react to her revival? She just wanted a little bit more time. Actually she didn’t want a little more time, she wanted to rush in and hug them all and laugh and joke around like before but it just didn’t seem right.
Aerith was just outside Nibelheim, she could just about see the town from where she stood but hadn’t yet set foot inside, she was watching for people walking around and to see what life were there. For now she stood beside a pond of some sort, it looked like it had rained recently and the smell it brought was so fresh, she missed these small things. Slowly she knelt down and dipped a few fingers into the water, it was such a strange but familiar feeling and she was so tempted to jump in and swim, there were so many things she missed about life. With the hand she leant on she ran her fingers through the dirt, scooping it up and ran it through her hand feeling each and every grain fall across her skin. She smiled and dropped them into the water whilst washing off the rest just looking across to the trees swaying gently from a little wind.
Ah the simple things.

I'M LOOKING AT YOU THROUGH THE GLASS DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH TIME HAS PASSED Vincent knew he was spending almost too much time in the area around Nibelheim or anywhere near the old falling apart mansion. He had been thinking a lot lately. He was the happiest he had been since he was turned into what he was. He had a girlfriend and some friends but something always drew him back to the place where his life had been changed forever. He had come to grips with the 'modifications' somewhat even they still bugged him to a degree. He still had issues with calling himself a monster because of them. He knew that if Chaos wasn't fast asleep at the moment would have snapped at him for even thinking the word monster. It was bad enough Galian doing.
Vincent had lost himself in thoughts about what had happened since his awakening while he walked around the area he had come to. One moment seemed to be prominant though as if something or maybe someone who was 'supposedly' fast asleep was trying to show him something. But what? The memory wasn't a happy one. He may have been pretty new to the group at the time but it had still been painful to think about. She had been one the first ones to accept him as a member of the group and not make judgements. She had been so warm and caring and though Vincent never let it show he had not really taken her death all that well. He remembered her kneeling on the platform praying and Cloud almost attempting to kill her and breaking him out of the trance. He hadn't even seen what happened coming until Sephiroth came in from above and ran Masamune right through her killing her almost instantly. Vincent had once he got away from the others had cried letting the grief and sadness that he had felt over the loss of last Ancient.
Vincent stopped in his tracks as he saw someone up ahead near a pond. He edged closer. His crimson colored eyes widened when he registered that the person that he saw looked a lot like the Ancient that had been killed that day. It wasn't possible was it? That she had been brought back to this planet. He felt a mental nudge from the 'sleeping' Chaos to move closer and announce my presence. I moved so I was standing beside her and said "Aerith?" The brunette was still crouching by the river when Vincent approached, before he’d spoken though she was enjoying everything she’d taken for granted...her life. Breathing in the air she smiled as it passed by her skin, it was a short moment but for her she was enjoying the release of...well, her prison. She couldn’t do much back then, though in a way it wasn’t strictly true, she’d managed to bring forth the Lifestream to counter Meteor when Holy wasn’t enough and had guided Denzel to Cloud and Tifa in hopes of finding Cloud a place for himself with their family. She couldn’t help but get involved, it was in her nature even in the afterlife.
When her name was spoken her emerald eyes flashed open and she turned her head quickly to the direction of Vincent. Her lips parted to speak but she wasn’t sure what she should say in this situation, it had never bothered her before but this was something she knew was going to be hard to digest. Even if she paced them with small details. A smile spread across her face as she saw him, always dressed in dark clothing, Vincent had always looked mysterious. She imagined what he looked like when he worked for Shinra right then, in his suit and seemingly normal to everyone else and she almost giggled peacefully to herself at the thought, it just wasn’t him.
Standing up straight Aerith brought her hands together right in front of her. She tilted her head and finally spoke, “You look well, Vincent.” It was the only thing she felt she could say at the moment, Vincent had always looked troubled, always the thinker but he could handle himself, she’d seen it. “This must seem really strange, believe me I don’t understand it either,” she paused and looked into his eyes trying to find the right words, “but this is real, I really am alive!” She didn’t call out but the brightness in her voice made her seem evidently happy. She wanted to explain more and ramble on to him but she bit her tongue and waited for a reaction first, she was glad it was Vincent; she hoped that out of everyone he would be calm about this. For her own sake too.

I'M LOOKING AT YOU THROUGH THE GLASS DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH TIME HAS PASSED Vincent smiled slightly. Aerith had the innate ability to make him care. Even back then she had wormed her way into his heart hence the fact he hadn't taken her dying as well as everyone thought he had. "Thank you, as do you." Vincent had never been good with talking but he was trying. "It is strange, yes but I am used to strange. But I am happy that you were sent back. I missed you, Aerith." Vincent said sincerely, trying to keep calm for both of their sakes. It wouldn't do to over-react to this. "I understand this is real and it seems Chaos already knew you were coming back. He has seemingly pointing me to this point and giving me little hints all day." Vincent explained.
As if knowing he was being talked about, Chaos 'awoke'. "Wow, Vincent finally realised it was me nudging him here to meet a friend." came Chaos's voice talking to Vincent like he was a little child. Vincent shook his head and clearly said "Oh Shut Up, Chaos." Vincent turned his full attention to Aerith. Things were so different now. He hadn't seen any of the others recently; he tended to keep to himself still except with his girlfriend, Akira. "It's been a long time since we last met but it is a pleasure to see you again. Things are so different now including the fact that I have a girlfriend. Sorry I am rambling." He said, he blushed when he realised he had been rambling or at least thought he was. He was not used to showing emotions all that much. He lowered his head slightly to hide the fact he was embarrassed and gave Aerith to talk. AND IT'S THE STARS THAT LIE TO YOU words |

Aerith smiled broadly at his reply. He didn’t seem fazed or nervous about her appearance; he didn’t seem to mind that she was here either. She was right and was also lucky to have met him first; he’d seen enough to understand this wasn’t going to be an overly dramatic situation and that it perhaps just needed some time. “I do?” She answered and twirled her body back and forth as though showing off, “Well I suppose I could have come back with three limbs.” She giggled and stood up straight again, she wanted to test his boundaries, hopefully a few jokes would lighten up the circumstances.
“Hmm...” Aerith drew her weight onto one hip and pulled a hand to her lips as she though, “Chaos”. She thought for a moment as she tried to pull those memories together, was it the demon inside him? She may have been able to draw her own conclusions from certain gifts she were born with but not everything was crystal clear. Eventually he spoke again, though it didn’t seem like it was addressed to her at least. “I missed you too Vincent, but don’t worry, I watched over you too!”
She closed her eyes and giggled, it was true, she’d tried to be there for everyone. Vincent had caught himself rambling and she left her mouth agape as he continued, “Ooooh~ Vincent! I must meet the girl that has such a big effect on you.” She laughed and bent over to properly see him blush, “who is the mystery woman?” Aerith hadn’t expected this from him, she was interested and had forgotten about everything she was thinking of, she was too distracted about the new (and seemingly good) change in Vincent. “She must be special to make you blush like this~.”
Aerith couldn’t help but tease her friends, not in the sense she was a bully of course, she wasn’t cruel. But she liked to play and opening other people up to things, though even prying into their feelings seemed to be something she couldn’t help. It hadn’t caused any upset so far and she knew her limits at least. Unfortunately her mind couldn’t escape the future but for now it wasn’t about her.
