The sudden lack of gravity made Noel's stomach lurch, but he forced the feeling down as he got a grip on the situation. The Gardens began to quickly rise above the pair, as they barrelled to Gran Pulse. It was lucky that the SeeD facility was currently floating above a large ravine, giving Noel even more space to work his plan. He felt confident, but it was only when he heard Serah's cry did Noel remember that he had her to protect as well. Her body above his grasped for his chest, her face clearly stricken with worry. Noel couldn't help but let his smile grow as he saw her face, it was sweet, and he never expected a girl asking him to save her. With that in mind, He put his fingers to his mouth and let out a high pitched whistle. For a second nothing happened, but a sudden flash of purple light swooped towards the pair. Behind it was a cute and cuddly furry animal that flew with bat like wings.
"Moogle, give me a bow!"
Noel called out to his little friend, not bothering to introduce it to Serah. He was pulling out a spare but of rope he always carried with him.
"Kupoooooo!"
With enthusiasm, the little ball of fluff was surrounded by a hazy mist before reappearing as a bow. Noel reached out and grabbed it, catching a glimpse of his prey in the distance. It had already caught sight of the pair when they were running down the maze corridor. Wrapping the rope around the arrow and them him and Serah, Noel's hands were moving fast. He knew that they had just past the cliffs of the ravine, and even with the beast swooping towards them, he was worried that they wouldn't make it in time. Watching its prey soon reach the bottom, the giant dragon like monster flapped its wings harder, shortening the distance between the couple and it.
"Okay now, you can complaaain!"
Noel pulled the bow string as far back as he could, and released the arrow, which shot straight and true. It pierced what could be called a sort of dorsal fin on the monster, which bellowed a howl of pain.
"HOLD ON!"
The beast, began to quickly retreat, the arrow holding tight. Noel held onto Serah as they were jerked from their freefall, pulled away by the injured beast.
