All pirates follow the pirate code. However it is far different from ship to ship. As the Captain of his very own pirate crew, Cedric obviously has his own. All members of his crew are excepted to follow it, and sometimes Cedric himself actually follows it. To Captain Rackham this is perhaps the most balanced pirate code existence, balanced in his favor of course.
I. All crew member, and passengers, must swear to uphold the holy codes of this article. Any person refuse to sign shall be marooned, or executed at the Captain's convince. Any who break this holy codes, save for the Captain, shall be punished accordingly. The punishment shall be decided upon by the Captain and the Company.
II. Any person marooned by the Company or the Captain shall be left on an island with a single shot, a small bottle of rum, and the clothes on their back. The island select must not be completely uninhabited, but one where the person will be sure todiesuffer many hardships.
III. If the Company or the Captain happen across a marooned man or woman they shall take them in, force them to sign the articles of the ship then the Captain and Company shall decided their fate.
IV. No member of the Company, including the Captain himself, may steal from the company or the Captain. If the object stolen is worth more or equal to that of a Piece of Eight, then the person shall be executed at the Captain's convince. If the item is worth less then a Piece of Eight then their punishment shall be decided by the Captain and the Company, if this is the case then the punishment may still result in death.
V. If one smuggles treasure upon the ship without informing the Quarter Master or Captain then they shall be punished. If the treasure is worth more then or equal to that of a Piece of Eight, then the person shall be executed at the Captain's convince. If the item is worth less then a Piece of Eight then their punishment shall be decided by the Captain and the Company, if this is the case then the punishment may still result in death.
VI. Whom ever discovers another ship in the seas shall receive one extra share if a raid is successful.
VII. Any honorable man injured in the line of combat shall receive compensation for their injury. If a limb has been lost then the person shall receive no less then two-hundred and fifty Pieces of Eight. The compensation shall be decided upon by the Company and Captain.
VIII. If any man is deemed to useless, or unable to do his fair share of work by the Company and the Captain shall be executed or marooned at the Captain's convince.
IX. If any member of the crew is slain then their belongings will be evenly divided among the crew according to the tenth code.
X. If any plunder is captured, or gained by the crew then six shares shall be given to the Captain, three shares to the Quarter Master & First Mate, two shares to any important crew members such as the carpenters and navigators, all others shall receive one share.
XI. The Captain's word is law, in any case of judgement his decision over rides that of the Company.
XII. There shall be no open fighting between crew members on the ship. Any quarrels will be decided in a duel on dry land under the supervision of the Captain, even if he is part of the dispute. The rules of the engagement will be decided upon by the Captain and the Company.
XIII. Any man who even suggests mutiny shall be executed at the Captain's convince. An even worse fate then death awaits those foolish enough to partake in mutiny.
XIV. Any crew member wishing to bring a woman, man, or child aboard may only do so while the ship is at dock. If they wish to have some "privacy" then they shall be granted the First Mate's quarters for half an hour. The Captain of course may use his own quarters at any time. Any person found smuggling a non-crew member of hostage aboard while the ship is at sea shall be marooned, unless the Captain or the Company decided upon another punishment.
XV. All crew members are expected to fight with honor according to the Captain's own concepts fo honor. As such only hiding, or retreating is deemed unacceptable. Kidnapping, hitting below the belt, emotional blows, and cheating are acceptable. Any man caught fleeing or hiding from a battle shall be punished. Their punishment will be decided by the Company and the Captain. However the fifteenth code may be null and void if the Captain calls for a retreat.
XVI. Any person calling for a parley must be taken to the Captain, and the laws of Parley must be upheld. Anyone breaking the laws of Parley shall be marooned or executed at the Captain's convince. Once parley is finished then the Company and the Captain may do what ever they wish with the person, as long as it does not breach the terms of their Parley.
XVII. Hostages are not people, therefore they have no rights. Including the right to parley. Hostages may not be harmed if they are useful to the Captain or the crew. Unless it's fun, in which case it is forbidden to seriously or permanently injure a hostage. The Captain may never be a hostage.
XVIII. Every man is excepted to keep their arms clean. The punishment for failing to respect ones own weapons shall result in marooning, unless the Company and the Captain decided a more harsher punishment is deserved
XIX. Every crew member save for the Captain and Quarter Master is excepted to partake in the night watch. Any one who neglects this duty shall be punished. Their punishment shall be decided by the Captain and the Company.
XX. No one person has the right to give away, trade, or dispose of the ship's rations. The rations are divided by the tenth code. If anyone is caught breaking this code then they shall be punished after the Company and Captain deliberates on their punishment. Rations may be changed by the Captain and the Company in times of shortage.
