At the break of day a plain letter from an unknown sender arrives on Cid Raines's desk. The parchment has been worn to a dark yellow from being exposed to the harsh suns of the Dalmascan Sands. A single golden seal rests on the back of the envelope, bearing the seal of a fallen kingdom. The letter, which appears to be old and rustic, was in fact only written a few hours ago. The smell of wet ink still lingers.
The header of the letter once again displays the seal of Dalmasca, which stretches across the entire page. beneath the seal rests very curly yet neat hand writing. The write was clearly subjected to years of classes and lessons, as each letter seems to be perfected. The letter reads;
Primarch Cid Raines, I apologize for not being able to meet you in person. Since the birth of my movement I have sought an alliance with both you & the Cocoon, yet recent developments have forced me to stay away from the Cocoon. I am Captain Amalia of Dalmasca. Two years ago the Empire of Archadia invaded my homeland unprovoked. When they offered us a chance to surrender, they killed our King in cold blood through the traitor Basch fon Rosenburg. Only weeks later our Princess, Ashelia B'nargin Dalmasca, took her own life in sorrow. Which left Dalmasca to the mercy of Archadia.
Since then I have worked with the Archadia Resistance, seeking to restore Dalmasca's sovereignty and put an end to the wicked Empire. Thus I seek your aid. Recently our former leader Captain Vossler, went missing deep within the Sandsea leaving me the sole leader. We struggle with our efforts, yet that does not mean we have not succeeded. We have garnished many allies through out the world, and I wish you to be one of them.
All we ask is for two things. The first of which is your support. In times like this the Resistance understands that you have no troops to spare, yet we are in need of financial aid. The second is upon Archadian's fall, that Dalmasca is restored. Of course the Kingdoms of Dalmasca and the Cocoon would have a natural alliance. In exchange we can strike where you can not. The Resistance knows the den of the Archadian dogs like no other, only we know where to strike and how too. Furthermore our knowledge of Archadia is unrivaled, except to the wicked Larsa Solidor himself.
I shall warn you now, currently we are small and weak. At most we are able to raid the supply caravans that keep the Archadian Army afloat, yet with your aid we may set our goals even higher. Such as the heart of Archadia. --Captain Amalia, leader of the Archadian Resistance
