Yuffie wasn't sure why she was back here. This place, this giant golden leafed tree, was a place of pure shame. Not because she almost always lost the games, but because she remembered going on a date here. With a rather attractive man.... Alright, she couldn't remember his name, or what he looked like aside from his beautiful blue eyes. But she did remember him smacking her around. Alright, it was only twice and Yuffie was asking for it like she normally was. But that didn't give him the right! She was the one and only White Rose of the Wutai! He should worship her, and give her all his matiera!
But nnnooo... All he left Yuffie was shame and embarrassment. As she stalked the halls of the Golden Sauce she could feel the sharp sting on her cheek. The pain of the moment was one of her few clear memories left. It took a lot for Yuffie to come back here though. She had to swallow all that shame and embarrassment, emotions the egotistical ninja was unfamiliar with. But she had a really good reason to come back here. There was some sweet treasure. Sure memories were good and dandy, but memories are just memories. They are in the past, and there's nothing you can do to change that. No matter what Yuffie knew she would still be her Wutai, materia lovin' self. And she would be damned if she neglected to grab more of those shiny gems called materia.
So what was the world's best ninja investing her hard earned gold points into? Slots. Lots and lots of slots. She was only a few hundred gold points away from that shiny yellow matiera in the prize case... Well she was a few hours ago when she started. Yuffie kept thinking she was going to win, after all she was the best. But she wrong. Over a hundred games and she hadn't won a single slot game. With a nervous look on her face the ninja dropped in her last GP into the slot machine. The large mechanical game began to hum softly, accepting the gp.
Large white wheels, on the face of the machine, began to spin. Yuffie's eyes grew wide as she watched. This had to be it! Clunk! The first wheel stopped, a large golden seven on it's face. Clunk! The second wheel stopped only seconds after, another large golden seven on it. Clunk! "SO ON A-" Yuffie screamed out in a rage. A bag of garbage drawn onto the face of the lats wheel. "Play again?" the soft mechanical voice cooed.
Yuffie's face became one of rage at the slot machine's words. Her face scrunched up, her mouth becoming an upside down v-shape while her brow knotted in fury. "CHEATER!" She screamed back at the thing. One of her feet flew out towards the base of the machine as she screamed out, "GIMMIE BACK MY GOLD!" A loud, echoing, clanking issued forth which was followed by a sharp cry of pain. Metal hurt, a lot. Yuffie stumbled backwards, holding on to her foot which howled out in pain like a banshee on the moors.
She felt onto the small stool in front of the machine. Kisaragi's hands softly massaging her foot. "Your a big meanie." She cried, her anger being dulled by pain. Tears welling up in her eyes. Yeah, this Gold Saucer place totally sucked. They cheated you out of treasure, made you relive horrible memories, and on top of that they made you feel the pain of losing a loved one. Well materia wasn't a person, but to Yuffie it was the next best thing. So why the heck did she ever bother to come back here again?

A rather large man gifted with an illustrious ebony mane roamed the halls of the golden den of iniquity. He carried himself with a cool confidence that could easily be mistaken for arrogance. He exuded the traits of a man that had seen some things and had the scars to prove it. His jaded optics were nefarious in their approach like a wolf searching for the first sign of weakness. Yes, it was easy to tell he was a man of extensive military experience. Gideon, Wutai's prodigal son precariously made his way to the wonder square on a leisurely stroll he had time to waste before his entry as a Chocobo racer could be finalized. So it would seem like another oblivious patron would be duped out of their hard earned GP, quite the contrary. Gideon if nothing else was a shrewed man of quick wit.
He knew better than to play against the machines that required luck they are nothing more than traps, games of actual skill were the way to go. Stepping into the game room he was overtaken by the bright lights and sounds of the square. A sharp right led Gideon to his favorite machine and quite possibly the only one that requires skill to win, basketball. Good old Super dunk, Gideon use to make a fortune in GP back when he was still enlisted in SOLDIER. In fact he hadn't returned to Gold Saucer since the war. Standing before the super dunk machine was a bit nostalgic of time times he and his war buddies use to gather around after a night of drinking and make side bets on how many shots each of them could make before they missed. Those tender memories brought a wry grin to the lax persona of the looming figure.
"Good times..." He spoke feeding gill into the machine. In an instant the metal beast came alive offering Gideon a worn ball that felt eerily familiar in his large hands. After squeezing the ball in his right palm he began to bounce it threading it between his legs to his left hand. At first glance one could easily assume that he really was basketball player from his stature and the way he handled a ball. Upon further inspection one would notice that he was a left handed shooter, his shot wasn't the prettiest but he had sound technique. The first ball bounced off the glass an into the holographic hoop signaling automated applause. Taking a moment to get into a rhythm he bounced the ball before taking another shot bouncing it off the backboard and into the hoop once again.
After a couple more shots he was draining swishes with ease until a shrill whine broke his concentration."Awe what the hell?" After collecting his hefty sum of GP he ventured towards the slot machines to see what all the fuss was about. Sitting hunched over on a stool was a petite girl with a head shaped like an apple rubbing her foot. As he drew near a furrow disturbed his brow as the girl started to look more and more familiar. Looming over the girl he now recognizes as Yuffie he placed his large hand on her head lightly ruffling her hair."You know big girls don't cry." he teased her with a playful scoff."Hey does Master Godo know you're losing all of his money?" Gideon and Yuffie had a mutual friend in her father, because of the age difference and Gideon going off to become a SOLDIER rather than a ninja they hadn't spent much time together in the past. Now days he tends to look after her from the shadows almost like a big brother.

Now who in the name of holy materia was this guy? Yuffie's face scrunched up in wonder as still she held onto one foot, balancing on the other. He looked Wutai, but he was different. He didn't carry himself the same way, and his face certainly didn't look familiar. Granted Yuffie knew her memory was shot to hell. For all she knew this guy was some estranged uncle... Yuffie shuddered ever so slightly. She really hoped this guy wasn't an uncle. Those guys were freaks.
Then she stomped her foot on the ground, the very same she just bruised. A wince of pain flashed on her face. The ninja really wished that she didn't just do that. But she had to take a stand to this weirdo! The pain was quickly replaced with anger, well not so much anger but more of annoyance. "Well who the heck do you think you are? Mr... Uh.." She paused, her eyes quickly glancing over this fellow.
Well he wasn't bad looking at least. Nice build, even if he looked SOLIDER to her. Wait... There was something about this man. Her nose sniffed the air. HE HAD GOLD! And lots of it. Yuffie spun around quickly, rubbing her hands together in the way only a glutenous demon could. A wicked snicker on her face. She would rob this man blind! "Weeeeeeeeellll, my Dad's being a but as usual. Ya'know trying to turn the village into an amusement park." She said turning back around, not doing to good of a job hiding her lust for treasure. Or her wicked plan. "Ya'know, sorry bout earlier. Memory is all foggy. Materia did that. Well lack of materia that is." She finished, a thrill running down her spine. She hoped this would work!
[OCC :: Sorry if it's short, having trouble getting back into the swing of things. ]

Gideon looked down at the bewildered girl in amusement, it seemed the more she had grown the more she stayed the same. Gideon's 6'8 frame shook with with mirth as Yuffie added insult to injury to her tender foot."Hahaha, you ain't changed at all." Gideon crossed his long sinewy arms over his chest as Yuffie began her insistent nagging."Uh-huh, so you forgot all about big brother Gideon?" When Yuffie was younger she was quite the handful always getting into trouble and fights with the kids her own age. Gideon at one time was a student of her father when Yuffie was to young to train but desperately wanted to. Both of them being single children they kind of took to each other like brother and sister, however that was long ago.
Mako eyes caught the young ninja looking Gideon up and down, it made the man feel a little awkward not only because he thought of her as a sister and he could appreciate a young girl but not that young he was nearly ten years older than her. Suddenly she turned around, she should of known Gideon could see what she was doing if she knew better she would have known that he already knew what was on her little devious mind."You know you ought to be more subtle when you're scheming to rob someone." Gideon's persona reflected his chagrin"Tell you what, if you help me get top score at speed square I'll make it worth your time, deal?" Gideon pulled out a pouch and tossed it up and down temptingly in front of Yuffie.Deal? [lol it's okay I couldn't come up with much either.]
