Groggy and disorientated the man found himself on his back. A leaf fell and rested against his forehead.”Where the hell am I?” opening his eyes they exuded a bewitching emerald glow that contrasted the dimly lit forest. Gideon felt drained; being as large as he was it was quite the task just getting to his feet. He groaned softly placing a hand against his head brushing back a wily sable mane as his mind started to clear up. Looking around he realized that he was in a forest populated by spares trees and seemingly no wild life, the eerie silence was somewhat disturbing, what kind of forest is this quiet? Gideon had no recollection of how he had gotten there nor where there was and neither where he had been. Taking a moment to gather his thoughts he mused over where he might be.
”Sleeping Forest?” A velvety tenor posed the question out loud it was the only explanation he could think of but this raised another question. How was he able to make it this far in, from the stories he was told only those who possessed a lunar harp would be able to venture this far in. Up ahead was a bright light the exit of the forest that leads to the Forgotten Capital. Gideon felt as if something was luring him there like the time in the mountains only this time he didn’t know if he should follow the instinct. Looking around he could find the path that lead back to bone village and getting lost in this place didn’t seem too appealing. Against his better judgment he set off towards the City of the Ancients. Last time he had this feeling he was lead into a death trap that he survived on dumb luck but mako poisoning wasn’t any fun either.
Thusly his best course of action was to proceed with extreme caution. Nearing the city the scenery began to change resembling that of the ocean floor, the buildings where made of conch shells and coral, the earth sandy. Gideon knew this place was special, he could feel it but how did it all relate to him, after all he wasn’t an ancient nor did he understand their language but he did something very few people do and survive, enter the lifestream. Traversing further in he came to the crossroads and decided to continue on straight ahead through the coral reef like structure that led to a bone constructions beside a lake.”This place is somethin’ else.” he muttered to himself as he ventured toward the lake squatting down to have a drink of water and splash some on his face.
