Freya had to be accompanied by Gray and a few fellow soldiers. She had warned him a week, a week had passed and the menace was still within the caverns. What they found was horrifying. Freya felt a knot within her stomach when she saw it...her people, her fellow soldiers, dead within the cavern walls. "This is more dangerous than I've imagined..." Gray murmured.
"Gray, use your men and collect the bodies of our people. They must be buried immediately...see to it it is proper." "But Lady Freya! What about you?" "I will find the fiend myself. I am a skilled dragoon knight; I will not fall to a fiend." Gray wanted to tell her otherwise, mention about her ruling status.
But he saw the look in her eye in which her bangs did not side and saw the determined look within it. "Do not worry Gray...if I do not return in the late hours of the night, find a suitable new ruler." "Lady Freya...!" It was too late; Freya had already made her way deep in the Caverns. Gray could do nothing but order his soldiers to collect those dead.
Inside, Freya stopped and scanned the walls. Something tall had entered - the ceiling was cut as were the walls but a single line, slightly jagged but a line no less, was visible. Freya crouched to the ground saw saw hoof prints. A horse? A horse-like fiend...then she found it, a small stone but with radiating power in front of her. She rose to her feet and crouched to the level of the stone, picking it up.
The stone then pulsed in her hand lightly and it disappeared. Freya stared at her hand where the stone had been, wondering about it's origin and it's mysterious aura. However, her thoughts were stopped short when she heard distant galloping...it was no mistake that whoever did this to her people...had found her and would come to her.
Freya withdrew her lance and stood at attention, ready for the monster's might...

It was an odd thing to discover that Odin seemed to give off his own glow, albeit faint, in the dark tunnels of the Zertinan Caverns. It wasn't visible as far as Lightning knew above land, but down here it was a veritable blessing, as she had no doubt that she would have gotten lost without it.
Not that there was any way to get lost. Sitting astride Odin's back as he plodded along gently, Lightning wasn't headed in any direction in particular - merely exploring. Though, it was possible to get lost in a way that meant she was unable to reach the surface again. The caverns sprawled far enough that it wasn't unlikely.
Again, she was thankful that the Eidolon seemed to have his own inner compass. The path had doubled back on itself so many times that she was confident she was lost.
Pushing that thought out of mind, the pinkette readjusted her position on Odin's back and simply looked at the darkness beyond his dim golden glow.
We aren't alone, he said suddenly, and Light tensed.
Then, though, fast enough that she was reduced to scrambling for a purchase on his metallic neck, Odin took off at a full gallop. Footfalls seemed to echo around them twofold, as if someone else was matching their pace, as he took corner after corner at a breakneck speed, predicting each turn before it came so as to not send his keeper to splat against the wall as so much baggage.
Suddenly, the narrow tunnel opened up into a large cavern, and Odin cantered to a stop - but the hoof-falls didn't cease at that; the second set still continued onward...
The Eidolon spun on his hind legs, rearing to face the mouth of the tunnel, ignoring any other presences but the one behind him. Lightning held on for dear life, for a moment feeling her feet dangling in the air as he reared. She came back down hard onto his steel back, wincing at the bruise that was sure to be there in a few minutes, but unsheathing and expanding her gunblade all the same.

The faint galloping was what caused both parties to stop. Actually, one of the said parties to continue to go for he was approaching fast behind them. However, with a quick turn of a tunnel, he was gone. He wasn’t their true goal, after all. However, it seemed fate would be set for Burmecian to meet the l’Cie and for two Odins to meet face to face, for the caverns were connected to each other.
The six-legged horse sudden let out a whinny, sounding slightly demonic as it came bursting forth from the tunnel, in between Freya and Lightning. The man upon the horse first stared at Lightning and Odin. It was a strange sight to behold. ’Another one called Odin. However…’ He then turned to Freya, but the horse trained its eyes on Odin, still clearly amazed by this chance encounter.
’I remember you and your home. Freya Crescent. I was once summoned to destroy Cleyra. I have killed many of your kind, your king included. I listen to my master – my master is you. I but feel hatred…revenge. I am not allowed to be with a master who holds that to her heart.” His blade was drawn, looking slightly similar to Odin’s form. ”Destroy your hatred and your revenge.”

She would be stunned at the woman upon her horse. Freya's first reaction was to point her lance at the other, but then she heard him before she saw him. Freya immediately jumped back, gaining distance between Lightning and herself as Odin made his appearance. "You...!" She would never forgive him. How could she?
Cleyra was destroyed. Freya remembered the presence of the other but she cared not; this was her enemy. If she had to fight them both at once, so be it. But the other proved to not be an enemy. "Forgive you? My people died on that day because of you! Our King lives no longer, the protection Cleyra once held remains no longer."
The grip on her lance tightened. "I vowed Cleyra would not be destroyed, yet I have failed her. But I will defeat you!" Freya wasn't just mad; she was pissed. She wanted revenge. Yet, the words of Odin bounced off her as if he said nothing. Perhaps the other would take the words to heart and try to calm the Burmecian.
"Your defeat in the name of Burmecia!"

Lightning could only watch with eyes narrowed and sharp as ice, feeling eerily comfortable with being caught in the middle of a battle between Arbiter and summoner. She didn't know the woman (humanoid, yet not human, not that this fazed her) by any stretch of the imagination, but at the realization that the creature that had been following them was but another manifestation of Odin, it felt planned that she was here - "brought into" the situation as it were.
Perhaps it was the strange parallel between what her response would have been and what Freya Crescent spoke that forced her into action. Perhaps it was the urging of some higher power. Or, perhaps, it was Odin's - her Odin's - immediate surge forward the moment the other woman moved, hooves clattering against the cave floor and echoing 'round them as Lightning, urged forward on her mount, twisted her gunblade to free one of her hands to use in swinging herself off of the horse, dropping to the ground in front of Freya.
A flashy interruption and interception, but she made do with what Odin had given her, of course. Both of them.
"Listen well to their words." Odin had cantered to a stop with a loop 'round, pawing at the ground several feet away from the other woman with clear anxiety.
At this point in time, one would expect the hero to unleash some sort of motivational, heartfelt speech on second chances. The stage was certainly set for Lightning to make such a statement. But at the dramatic pause, she merely shifted, stepping out of the way of the woman with the spear. "Revenge doesn't solve anything," she said as she went. "But you can make your choice."
