The battered Sanctum fighter touched down lightly on the grass a good ways outside of Luca city. The cockpit slid open easily at the push of a button, and Taro hopped out of the vehicle, slinging his rifle over his shoulder. He looked around at the terrain around him. Nice and isolated, good. The last thing he needed was every broke ass thief and his cousin trying to steal the ship. Taking one last glance at his beat up ship, he headed off towards the city.
As Taro walked down the streets of Luca, he could almost feel the looks his attire and armaments got from the locals. Their confusion was nearly palpable. He made a few stops and asked about directions, local landmarks and food. Each person answered as quickly as they could and sent him on his way. No one seemed to like strange gun-toting men in this town. After wandering for a while, he decided to head to the beach.
It had been a long while since his last visit to Lake Bresha, and when he flew over the ocean here it seemed so calm and peaceful. It would be a nice change of pace. Walking slowly down the streets, he finally made it to the beach. A small smile grew on his face as he walked out into the sand. Once he made it a good distance onto the beach, he let himself fall backwards onto the sand and lay there staring at the sky.

(Sorry it's so short, i just couldn't figure out anything else to do....)
Taro was taking in the sunlight, it's warm glow felt so much better than the artificial light given by the Cocoon Fal'Cie. While he lay there, a woman approached him, asking if he was alright. He glanced up at the woman with a drowsy look. "Huh? Oh, yeah, i'm okay." Taro rolled back, then leapt forward to his feet. The woman's dress was strange, it seemed like some sort of traditional... thing. He smiled. "Aside from being hoplessly lost. I'm fantastic."
Brushing himself off, he quickly readjusted the rifle on his shoulder, glancing around. "So where am I anyway? I seem sort of out of place here." then extended a hand. "I'm Lieutenant Taro Kyrai. It's nice to meet you Miss..." He extended the last word, waiting for her to finish the sentance.

[/b] the brunette said and nodded her head. "You're lost? Where are you from? That is if you don't mind me asking." Yuna said. This man did look like someone who was not from Spira. The...wait what is that thing he has? Yuna thought. It reminded her of the machina weapons that used to be forbidden. Only the Al Bhed and the Crusaders used them now. Well besides the occasional person who has a machina weapon like so. Maybe it was similar, perhaps? "This is Spira and this is the city Luca." Yuna said with a smile. "It's nice to meet you Lieutenant." the summoner replied, she then noticed his hand and reached her small hand into his. "I'm Yuna." the summoner said and nodded her head.[/ul] OCC:: It's okay =) mine isn't to long either ><

Taro looked around, taking in the scenery around him. The beach, the city, the hill in the distance where his airship was hidden in the trees. But most of all, he looked to the sky, the massive expanse, somewhere among it's endless reaches lay his home. The forgotten place, his lost refuge. He looked to Yuna with solemn eyes. “Yeah, you could say that.... I'm from Cocoon, and I need to find my way back.”
Shaking off the thoughts of his lost home, Taro smiled. “So, this place... This is a whole new world, or, it used to be. I guess we're all part of the same world now.” Glancing at the city, then back to Yuna, he spoke in an excited tone. “You wanna show me around then Yuna? I'd love to see Luca with someone who actually knows a bit about the city.”

[/b] Yuna said with a smile. "I am sorry about what happened there also. My friend brought me to Cocoon to show me his home. Perhaps I could help you? I would be more than happy to give you aide." Yuna said happily. When the man wanted her to show him around, Yuna nodded with a smile. Least thing she could do to a visitor. Erik was gracious enough to do this for her, why not repay the favor to someone else. "Yes," Yuna said. "How long have you been here? That is if you don't mind me asking you."[/ul]

She knew of Cocoon? That's fantastic! Maybe she could tell him how to get back. Taro spoke quickly and in an excited tone. “Wait, you know how to get to Cocoon?? Could you tell me? That would be fantastic, If I could just get back then.....” Her comment about a horrible thing happening on Cocoon triggered a memory flash. Taro stopped suddenly, getting a quick glimpse of what had happened. “But.... that would mean.... We lost?” Taro's eyes became sad quickly, his excitement fading into near despair. “That was it...”
Taro shook his head, looking back to Yuna. He smiled, but his eyes betrayed the somber realization below. “Sorry, my memory hasn't been right since the storm.” He seemed to relax, and spoke again in a calm tone. “I've only just arrived here. I landed my airship over that hill over there. Haven't really been able to stay in one place for too long.” Taro motioned to the area where his ship was 'hidden'. “And I don't mind you asking.”

[/b] Yuna said. "I'm sorry." Yuna apologized quickly. Lost? Wait what did they lose? Yuna thought a bit confused. Yes she knew that a war was going on, but Cocoon had been crystallized for a while. At least that is what the young summoner thought at least. How Erik had spoken of it, certainly sounded like it. His memory? Oh, Yuna thought. She knew how he felt about the memory loss though. "I am sorry to hear about your memory." Yuna said. The decision to comfort him, with telling him of her own memory problems, crossed her mind. Reaching a quick decision, Yuna rose a hand over her heart and looked at the ocean. "I myself have some memory problems. Since the Eternal Calm started I think, I don't remember much before that. Just becoming a summoner and the rest is a blank." Yuna said truthfully.[/ul]

Taro looked up at Yuna slowly, and was looking her in the eye after she finished speaking. An empathetic look in his eyes towards her memory problem, which plagued them both. “Yeah, it's the worst ain't it?” Taro shook his head, running everything he could through his memory. He remembered Liberty-2, but the individual members started to fade from his memory. Names were already gone, but he could vaguely recall the faces. Only a flickering, dying flame remained of his mission. A waning silver sliver, slowly being swallowed by the darkness of the mist that haunted this distorted world. It was like a looming revenant, preying on the confused and unsuspecting inhabitants of this new world. His mind wasn't the first casualty, nor would it be the last. But it was his, and whatever the hell caused the distortion. It was his enemy. That faint sliver that was left was a single sentence. A lone command amongst a sea of confusion, his imperative as a soldier. He muttered it to himself. “Liberty is the key to freedom, so long as it survives, we have a chance.” Taro exhaled, then spoke a phrase that had been repeated to him in training over and over again. “All it takes is a single spark to ignite a great blaze.” Looking back at Yuna, Taro smiled and nodded. “I'm sorry about your loss as well Ms. Yuna.” Somewhere in the back of his mind, the knowledge that the Sanctum would only wait so long before breaking neutrality laws to 'extract' him tugged on his consciousness. Nagging at him to leave before he endangered the people here. Technically, PSICOM agents could argue that they were pursuing a criminal of war. And it's entirely possible that the authorities would cooperate with them. “So, you're a summoner? That must be a daunting task. Is it difficult?” Taro tried to retain his cool composure. But traces of his worry could be picked out from his facial features and body language, it was also obvious that he was floundering for a topic of conversation.
