Taro scanned the area below frantically for a landing place, it was all heavy jungle, and it wouldn't be easy for him to make a landing anywhere, especially without his pursuers noticing. One of the fighters whipped out from cloud cover and opened fire on Taro. He dropped his speed and turned upward into a spiral, then fired his afterburners and dropped in behind the other fighter. A short pursuit resulted in the sanctum fighter's destruction, a couple shots to the wing sent it flaming into the jungle below. This was it. His chance to drop out of site. The gunship was still above the clouds with the other fighters, and his ship wasn't going to be able to take them. He caught a glimpse of a narrow clearing at the base of a hill. Descending quickly, he managed to land and camouflage his ship before the other Sanctum craft found him.
Surveying the area around him, Taro couldn't see anything all that remarkable. Though a jungle like this would have to be filled with monsters. He pulled his rifle off of his shoulder and climbed on top of his fighter, sitting down and watching the area around him for activity. If anything was going to try and sneak up on him, it would have to break cover and come through the clearing, losing it's main advantage. In the small opening in the canopy, Taro could barely make out the smokey pillar from the other fighter, no doubt the Sanctum would be searching the area. Taro would have to stay on his toes. If they caught him by surprise it would be the end of him. PSICOM wasn't messing around when they sent these guys.

"I have to admit, the vegetation here is considerable, even more than the forests around Alexandria. Hopefully there's not a being here that can actually petrify the forest as well..."
Ouranus moved with caution as she took notes on the forest. It was clear that this particular area was not a part of her world, so she wanted to gather as much data on this land as she can. For the most part she had not encountered many things. It almost seemed too quite for a moment. As she placed her hand on the tree, thinking about some things as she could hear Aggelos' voice. This area is very much teeming with cover and areas anyone would be able to hide in. It is not like an open field here Ouranus. I need you to be mindful of your surroundings and do not take things at face value. Aggelos was right as she continued to walk through the jungle. Eventually she had found something she had immediately caught interest in. She knelt down in front of the fighter, studying it not like a warrior but almost with child like curiosity. She had never seen anything like this before. The airships she knew were able to house many people, but something that could house a single person intrigued her. However, the curiosity was gone as she wondered something new: if there was one of these strange ships, where was the one who piloted it? She started to look around, wondering if they were nearby.

Taro heard rustling in the brush just ahead of the nose of his fighter, he lay down on top of the fuselage compressing himself against the craft as he waited for the intruder to reveal itself. A woman appeared out of the foliage and began to admire his airship, looking it over intently. Taro stood up and ran silently along the brush covered top of the ship, sliding off the side behind the wing, then vaulting the wing and heading towards the nose. Pressing himself against the side of the cockpit, he slid along it until he was nearly at the nose. Taro spun around the corner, drawing his pistol and aiming at the girls head.
He halted there, speaking in a serious tone. “Alright lady. What the hell are you doing here? You with PSICOM?” Taro waved the pistol upward before training it on her again. “Stand up, slowly. I want answers, and i'm not willing to wait. Time's short.” He stood and waited, his eyes conveying the mixture of anger, resolve, and fear that lay within him. Taro's other hand lay resting on his second pistol, ready to draw it should the situation turn hostile.

Patience Ouranus, this one seems to be a little bit more edgy than anything
Usually it would be the case that people would immediately draw their weapons out and be ready for an engagement. But Ouranus had known better. She listened to stories of her father when he was young. Before he was mature he had been known to get into fights with not just monsters, but other people. Sometimes the people were much larger and had weapons aimed at him. That was when it was time for diplomacy. Ouranus didn't go for her weapon, but she showed as a sign of good faith that she raised her hands up showing her palms to him as she slowly turned around. "Okay, take it easy I'm not going to go for my sword," she said with a cautious tone. It was clear to her that if she was not careful that she would have been killed on the spot.
Her golden eyes looked him over as she studied his uniform, what could be assumed as what was left of his ship and lastly the weapon that he had in his hand. Clearly his realm had a considerable amount of technology, probably was even more advanced than Midgar from the look of things. Her eyes never broke contact with his as she kept perfectly still. "My name is Ouranus Nova, I'm from Alexandria. I have no idea what this "PSICOM" is, but something tells me you are trying to elude them. I am not here to pass judgement on anyone. I simply came here to explore when by chance I came in contact with this strange one man airship." Ouranus had a sincere tone of voice as she looked in his eyes. She really wasn't a threat to him. She had a feeling that even the slightest twitch would make him aggressive. Whoever the PSICOM were had put this one on edge.

((Sorry about the delay, a hurricane knocked out my power.))
Taro watched Ouranus vigilantly as she rose and explained her situation. Then, breathed a heavy sigh of relief when she claimed to have no knowledge of PSICOM. He would have been suspicious, if not for the girls clothes and sword, obviously a different culture from Cocoon's own. Taro spun his pistols around on his fingers and slid them into their holsters, extending one hand in greeting. “I'm sorry about my less than gracious greeting. But I can't be too careful with PSICOM on my tail. My name is Taro Kyrai. It's a pleasure to meet you Ms. Nova.”
He stepped back and turned to the bushes, looking out into the foliage that no doubt held numerous beasts and monsters, along with the likelihood of PSICOM scouts. Taro kept his rifle slung on the edge of his shoulder for quick access. The roar of the Sanctum gunship shook him as it came close it could be glimpsed through the canopy as it neared the clearing. Taro's face lit up with sudden awareness. He looked to Ouranus and bolted over towards her making an attempt to grab her and slide under the ship's camouflaged wing, as they came to a stop he would speak quietly. “I'm sorry Ms. Nova, but there wasn't any time, stay down. If that thing sees us we're done for.”

He's pretty good with that weapon.
Ouranus watched his fingers as he twirled around his weapon. She could see that there was a considerable amount of dexterity in his hand. She had only seen something remotely close to it was with an archer. But he was not an archer and it didn't need as many movements to pull the trigger. She had even wondered if she would have been able to deflect the bullet if the conditions were worsened. But for the most part he seemed to be okay to begin with. He just seemed to be pretty agitated about the PSICOM though.
Ouranus knelt down by the bush, keeping her eyes around the area around the area. He must have seen something so she thought monster. Gripping the handle of her sword, she then heard the airship and looked up. The ship was massive, much bigger than any airship that she had encountered back in Alexandria. As she looked up at the ship, she then spoke to Taro. "Why are you afraid of them? Did you do something to make them mad?" In her mind, she had thought that it was simply about being a criminal. However it wasn't what her heart believed. To use something like this on a single person was beyond overkill. She'd expect a small search party, and even then they would mainly be on foot. But an airship like that only told her it looked more like an invasion force.
