Somehow, Jecht had found himself in a weird cavern formation. From what he had found so far, the place he was in was absolutely huge. After going through the caves for a while, he figured out that there were passages that headed in the general directions of the other continents. Or that is, what he believed was the directions of the other continents. Jecht wasn't the greatest geographer, but he had traveled his fair share and had a fairly good suspicion that this was the case. At least he knew that he could travel to the other continents without paying for the airship. While that would most likely take more time, he would save more money in the long run.
For this small adventure, Jecht had brought a bag along with him. While he still had his trusty sword, he used his bag to hold food and similar stuffs in it. There was one item that was out of the norm though. That would be sphere he had been using to map the tunnels he had explored so far. At the moment, he found himself at a crossroads inside the caverns. It was at this location that he pulled the sphere and realized he had returned to a center crossroads in this cavern chain.
"Might as well rest a while until I make my way back," Jecht stated to himself, resting on a rock off to the side of the crossroads. He had started a small fire not to long ago and it was illuminating this part of the cave. Surprisingly, it actually looked like people traveled through these caverns already. He came to this conclusion from the fact he noticed some stuff left behind by other people. That means there was some people that knew of travel in this cave.
"That is, if they can get past the monsters," Jecht started with a chuckle, as he had defeated a few monsters on his way throughout the caverns. Travel wasn't that dangerous for Jecht, considering he had been a legendary guardian in the past, it was just a hassle. "I wonder what kind of characters I'd meet down here."

Larxene was watching him. She had a sudden...urge. A completely animalistic one. But she fought it. Why? He...had a certain air about him. It wasn't something like Xemnas nor Sora but somehow he was a mix of both...if that somehow made sense. In other words, he was trouble if she were to even try to eradicate him. Besides...what fun would it be if they were alone?
The monsters wouldn't run in terror at his screams of pain...in fact, they'd be attracted to it and that meant more fighting. She was up for it, but she also was aware that she wasn't invincible. So she would proceed with caution. But...this could be fun either way. He wasn't a pushover and he could use some kind of company...right?
Larxene decided that. She opened her portal and slunk back into it.
"Someone like me?" Her voice pierced the silence as she giggled, though her usual sadistic tone was gone from her voice as Larxene slinked out of the darkness of a corner of the Zertinan Caverns. He shouldn't be too startled right? A grown man like this wouldn't be crying to his mommy that a scary little lady approached him, right?
Her smile was placed on her lips, on the border of too amused.

As he was taking a break in these cold, dark, and mysterious caverns, Jecht was approached by a stranger. Honestly, it was a tad bit unexpected to meet someone in these caverns, especially someone who appeared to come out of nowhere. But Jecht wasn't that startled by her just showing up, rather he was more curious about what she was doing here. Now, there were a few reasons for people to go into a cave such as this, and Jecht was wondering which of those reasons it would be.
Letting out a small chuckle to her answer to his question, Jecht was amused to see that she had been there for a little bit at least listening to him, "I'd say so, traveling down in these caverns by yourself." If that were to be the case, that would mean that Jecht was quite the character himself as well. But, that was something he knew quite well already. Who else would just go out and explore a cave system like he had? Not that there was much else to do anyways.
"So, what is a pretty young lady like yourself doing in a place like this?" he posed to her, curious about what she was doing down here. During this whole conversation with her, he had been on his guard. You couldn't just trust anyone you meet anymore, you had to be careful. Unlike the time back in Spira when most people could be trusted, now those were some good times. Which unfortunately ended when he became Sin, but that was all over and dealt with now. He was going to focus on the here and now, which happened to mostly deal with this peculiar woman that appeared before him.

She was right. He wasn't a giant, stupid human being. He's got some kind of brains (and wouldn't want to be on the other side of that muscle). Larxene shrugged at the inquiry of her being by yourself in the tunnels. He was right though; she was traveling in the Caverns by herself and only just happened to have spotted him and decided he was of interest.
She didn't stalk him from the outside in like some crazed rabid animal. "They have such crazy prices for airships, ships, what have you. I figure it's a lot cheaper walking around." That was the usual reason, anyhow. She, of course, needed no kind of transportation; she held dark portals after all. But in all honestly, she was here to kill some things.
Luckily for her, and him, she hadn't had the chance to before she met him. Thus, there would be no traces of animal remains nor a blood stench on Larxene. This would help the situation a lot. "What about you? Same reason?" Larxene asked, though knowing that it was probably the same reason. That, or he liked killing monsters.

"Crazy is right," Jecht replied to her comment, confirming the fact that the prices were in fact crazy. Her explanation for being in the tunnels were sound, for travel was fairly expensive when one traveled a lot. So, traveling by foot in the underground was a good way to travel, when one was strong enough to face the monsters. It was a risk equal to the reward, a reward of having to spend no money to get from continent to continent. After one would get to the other side, it would be easier to find a way to get to your destination, one that didn't drain the bank as they say.
"Well," Jecht started, wondering if his reason for being here was the same as her's. "Yeah, that's mostly the case. Also, I'm mapping out these caves with this sphere here." With that, Jecht raised the sphere in her direction. If one were to look inside the sphere, they'd see a 3D version of the Zertinan Caverns he had mapped out so far. "You'd be surprised at how many uses spheres had." Even though Jecht didn't know if the girl knew about spheres or not, he talked about it as she did know. Not that it mattered that much, seeing how these devices were easily learned.
"Not to mention the fact that this place is pretty good for training," Jecht mentioned, not exactly doing that yet, but he could have easily done so if he wanted. True, he did defeat some monsters, but that was just so he could explore more of the cave. If he had been training in these caves, the corridors would be covered with their blood and such. When Jecht sets out to do something, he makes sure he does so with the utmost vigor. After all, things shouldn't be done if they can't be done with the best of your abilities.

She knew she would get him to relate. Larxene let out a small giggle at the fact she was right, though it was far more innocent than her usual giggle. Then he mentioned not only was he doing this because it was cheaper, but also to map the place out. Curious, Larxene stared at the sphere. she didn't see any device like it before...though, she assumed it was somewhat like the crystal ball in Castle Oblivion.
That place...she wanted it further in her memory. Already talking to him, she felt that animalistic nature calm. It wasn't the man per se, but an actual, intellectual conversation was calming her senses. "Soooo some kind of recording device?" She could understand that much; nothing really phased the young Nobody anymore.
"Plenty of monsters, huh? That would explain why I didn't run into any. Good fortune for me; I'd rather not fight." That was half a truth; Larxene preferred the emotional pain rather than the physical but she would rather fight monsters than run from them. She was a prideful creature; she wouldn't let anyone...anyone best her if she knew she was capable of fighting.

Jecht was a tad bit pleased that she was interested in the sphere that he had. From what he knew of this new world, there weren't many other devices like this one. For all he knew, Spira was the only place in this world that had stuff like this. While Spira may have spheres, Jecht had seen a lot of crazy technology out there in the world. Stuff that he hadn't seen since Zanarkand, and possibly things that were more advanced then the things he once knew. Jecht was going to have to learn a lot more about the modern machina if he wanted to stay in this world. You either adapt or you die, though Jecht was sure he'd be fine.
"Yeah basically," Jecht replied, putting the sphere back in the bag after she looked at it. "They have recording and sending features," or at least that was when Jecht had still be around them. "Though they have a lot more uses then now then they used too." This came from the fact that from the period he was defeated as Sin, and when he was resurrected again, many more uses popped up. Probably because of the fact that there wasn't a Sin to stop all technology. That was just a small hunch though.
"Yeah, quite a bit of them down here," he restated her statement, while they weren't the strongest monsters, they were still monsters. "I'm up for a good fight anytime," Jecht started, giving her his views on fighting, "As long as there's a decent reason though. Pointless fighting doesn't do anyone good." The thing about that was, Jecht usually found a good reason to fight in any sort of circumstance. There were not that many instances were Jecht just ignored a fight, probably few enough to count on one hand.
