The Calm Lands, a place where Jecht hadn't been to in the longest time. A place of great importance to his life, the place where the greatest change in his life occurred. This was the place in which he became the monster known as Sin. Truth be told, it wasn't something he had planned on doing, rather it was something that he didn't know was going to happen. After all, it isn't every day someone becomes a fayth, aeon, and then taken by Yu Yevon to become a living armor.
Even though this place held a great importance to Jecht's life as being a horrible time for himself, at least one thing wouldn't change. That would be the fact that this place seemed to always have nice weather, no matter how many times a person would go there. Even as Jecht was walking from what remained of the monster arena towards the travel agency this fact held true. It was sort of a sign that things would always end up well, and it was something that Jecht hoped would be the truth.
Stabbing his sword into the ground, Jecht stretched his arms, as it had been a while since had to carry it any sort of distance Crossing his arms, Jecht took the time to notice the sort of serenity that was falling over this place. A sort of calm that one would think there would be all the time in a place like this. However it made Jecht sort of feel bad about his life, as he knew this place was like this as his time as Sin. A place where there was calm while he had to become a monster that killed and destroyed.
"Can't believe I'm getting myself worked up over this," Jecht muttered to himself as he grabbed his sword again, "The past is the past and I need to get it all behind me." Jecht was usually never this sentimental about anything. Though, saving the world for ten years, then becoming the monster you saved it from could bring up feelings like that.
Unbeknown to Jecht, the reason behind the calm he was experiencing was because there wasn't any other animal or human around. Jecht had been gone for a while, so unlike everyone else around, he didn't know about the annual Skoll migration. Since the calamity happened, they hadn't had time to put warning signs up or anything of the sort. So, that meant that only the people that knew the signs knew what was happening and ran for cover.
After a few steps forwards, he noticed the monsters coming in his direction. At first estimate there appeared to be twenty or so of the weakish monsters coming in his general direction. Jecht just grinned as the fiends approached, as it was the perfect thing to get his mind off of things.
"Twenty to one, perfect for a warm up," even though Jecht said this, it was going to be a hard fight. Also, seeing how he had just come back from the land of the dead not that long ago he didn't know if he had it in him. "Oh well, no use worrying now, the battle is just staring!" As he exclaimed that, the first of the skolls made it to him and he swiftly punched it's head aside and cut the one behind it down with his sword. Though two of them managed to get an attack in while he was beating down the first two. The game was just beginning.

This comes out too a 10% bonus in any physical attack for each turn damage has been inflicted upon him(up to a max of 100% bonus damage). However, due to his pride as a man and winning battles on his own, any time he is healed from the damage he's taken the bonus will go down. This decrease is equal to a negative 10% (down to the 0% it started with). [10%]

Momentum - Every time a physical attack lands successfully the attacker is granted an attack power boost of 10%. No higher than a 100% bonus may be achieved through this ability, and if an attack misses or is blocked the bonus resets to 0%. [20%]
Double Cut - The user is allowed an additional regular attack. - 2 post cooldown
Hat Trick - The user is allowed two additional regular attacks. [Must Know Double Cut] - 3 post cooldown
Area Barrier - Physical and Magical Defense is boosted by 50% and the rest of your party gains a 30% Physical and Magical Defense boost.
So, that's two out of Twenty-ish Skolls down. Basically these guys do the basic 5 damage and are just swarming the field right now. They have only 5 health apiece so have fun with it, and if you really want me to, I'll direct each of the remaining Skolls in who they attack my next post.

The place I had found myself in was nothing like Cocoon. It was very bright out, the sunlight covering the plain like a warm blanket. IT felt almost too hot to be wearing my uniform, but then again I didn't have a change of clothes on hand, so there was nothing I could do about that. Ah well, at least I could take my Beret off and let my hair loose. Now then, how I got here... I remember out in Gran Pulse, as I learned soon after having my butt saved by my current "guardian" of sorts. Auric; a mercenary for hire, liknig to fancy himself as a "hero for hire". Quite honestly, I didn't think a title like that suited him. More than once had I suffered his antics, whether they be simple pranks to perverted foolishness. Calling him a hero was overexaggerating; a grown child would probably suit him better. I sighed in disdain, swiping my beret from my head and allowing my hair to run freely. In all retrospect, he was probably older than me, which was sad in and of itself, but there was something about him that piqued one's curiousity. Having suffered a severe burn as he'd saved me before, he made a concoction which relieved the pain, and also used the moment to throw in the first of his actual perverted antics. IT was frightening to know, that aside from his childish demeanor, he was a very dangerous man. To put it bluntly, he frightened me. It's not that he'd threatened me, or that he had a serial-killer side to him. It's that I could not predict what he was going to do, or what he was going to say. He always caught me off balance and was able to easily dance circles around me with his simplicity. I guess I had been in the military for too long to be able to understand a normal man. I frowned as I heard, and somewhat felt the sound of what probably was a stampede. The small rock-face in the ground I had wandered on slightly overlooked the spectacle that I soon realized to be a fight. A man, oddly shirtless with tatoos ranging on his upper body, seemed to have been caught in what looked like... a stampede of... monsters? I frowned, putting my hair back up in a bun that way I could contain it under the Beret I slipped back on. There were definitely alot of them, and too many for one person to take on alone, although these seemed fathomably weaker than the most recent monsters which had given me so much grief. "Don't let them surround you!" I called out as i jumped from the rock-face, drawing Yakusai and Nayami as I hit the ground. I was only about fifteen or twenty feet from the man: A perfect distance for taking the monsters down like the flies they were. I let loose four rounds, all aimed at a different target. At this range, any marksmen of my level would hit, especially something so weak as what these monsters seemed to be. I frowned at the rest of the creatures, analytically. "Looks like the monsters are really out today."
Ouranus had been traveling through the calm lands as she put away the book that she had been writing her notes down. For the most part there wasn't much in the way of anything of curiosity. In fact, the only thing that was worth noting was the big gash in the land. Judging by the size of the cut, that couldn't have been from anything natural. Someone or something must have made that large amount of destruction. But that was going to have to wait for now. Ouranus' golden eyes scanned the massive green space, noticing there seemed to be a horde of monsters swarming a man with dark hair. He seemed to be pretty strong and as she turned her head she saw a woman giving him support. Clearly she was from one of the advanced worlds considering the gun that she had. She had seen a weapon like that once before in her life and she had been curious about it. However that was going to wait. Ouranus pulled her sword out and as she moved into the battle. Regardless of appearances, Ouranus knew that if those things swarmed the man with large enough numbers even the best of warriors could fall. A third weapon could easily help the number of monsters down, not to mention give the others relief from not having to do as many attacks. As she moved into the battle, Ouranus spoke softly. "Abadon, burn my enemies with your avenging flame." Sparks shot from her sword, creating a stream of fire that danced on the edge of her blade. As she moved she found a monster that she could ambush and performed her fire born attack from behind.

Now look who was lucky this day in the Calm Lands. As it turns out, Jecht wasn't alone in his monster slaying situation he found himself in. While he was fairly sure that these two people where here just by coincident, it was still nice to have some help. There were a lot of these monsters here, but Jecht didn't feel that worried about this battle. In the first time in a while, Jecht was feeling the excitement that came from battle. Though, he had to focus, as the first girl's advice about not being surrounded was a good and he planned to follow it.
"Let's go!" Jecht exclaimed, pumping himself up for this battle. Jumping backwards from the group that was trying to surround him, he slashed one of them down on his away from the combat. At the rated that this was going, this was going to be a short battle, which was good in a way. However, Jecht enjoyed those old hard battles that Auron, Braska, and himself used to partake in. So far, this was a far cry from those battles of old, not to mention the fact that Jecht beat Sin after all.
Concentrating, Jecht swung out at two more of the skolls that came for him. There weren't many more skolls left for them to battle. Jecht was going to make sure that they defeated the rest of them though. He figured that the other two people could take care of these weak monsters. For all the times he had been to the Calm Lands, Jecht had never just encountered weak monsters. Maybe this time would be a change of pace, but there was still time for a monster or so to show up.
Right now though, the skolls that remained had divided into three groups to attack the people. As of now, there were ten of the skolls left to battle. Three of the skolls went towards Ouranus, while three others went to attack Arleen. Four of the skolls attacked Jecht himself. While they weren't stronger monsters, if they had been, Jecht would have been able to kill them easier since they did more damage to himself. But who knows, he may still be able to yet.

I almost laughed at the charging monsters. I had just shot four of their brethren down, and they honestly thought that three would be enough? I spun Yakusai and Nayami in my hands before snapping them into position to aim. "Sleep soundly!"I let loose the three rounds it would take to drop them, and I watched as all three of them hit the ground dead. It was pathetic, nothing like the monsters I'd fought back on Gran Pulse. This wasn't a fight, it was exercise. I turned my attention to the man and the woman immediately. There were still a few of the pathetic creatures left, but they had seemed to target the other two, instead of me. I frowned slightly, checking the surroundings for anymore threats before takaing off at a run towards the other two. Monsters of this level of skill do not simply congregate without logic. There has to be a reason why.
Ouranus' mind continued to go through what was going on as she looked at the monster. Though the battle seemed easy, it almost felt too easy. However this distracted mind was enough to keep her off balance as one of the monsters struck her in the arm. As she clenched her teeth, her golden eyes flashed brightly as she struck hard against the monster with a two handed strike. The monster was quickly silenced as the sword went down without hesitation or remorse. She saw how the other two fought, and knew that having a ranged comrade was definitely a good thing. As both she and the raven haired male fought with their blades, the one with the gun could help pick off any that might try to interfere. She spun her blade, making the tip of her sword point to the ground as she ran at two more monsters. As they went down at her, Ouranus grinned and then used two slash attacks to bring both monsters down with one slash at a time.

Honestly, the skolls didn't have much of a chance, even if they were to fare only against Jecht in the beginning. These were the weakest monsters of the Calm Lands after all. While they did have some devastating effects on weaker people, against the warriors they fought now they were useless. Don't feel too bad for the skolls though, as the souls that made them would hopefully go to rest now in the Farplane, or what remained of it anyways. It was a little to early to declare victory against the skolls, as there were still four of them attacking Jecht at this very moment.
"Child's play!" Jecht yelled as he struck two more of the skolls in front of him, getting stronger with each kill he delivered upon him. He wasn't able to kill the other two that were attacking him, but as the attacked him, he just would rebound his efforts to defeat the monsters that were assailing him. It was hilarious though, the more they attacked the stronger that he got himself. As time in the battle went on, Jecht would just bet getting stronger and stronger. Not that it would matter against these weak monsters, as the remaining two would be either cleaned up by the other two or Jecht would do it himself in a little bit.
The remaining two skolls would be the least of the party's worries in a little bit. As over a slight hill not far from the group, a group of Ogres were coming in their direction. They had just finished decimating a group of skolls that had intruded onto their territory and they were not happy about it. So they had set out in groups looking for more to kill. The Ogres didn't know that it was their action of expanding their territories that led the Skoll to migrate like they had.
What this meant for the group of three that were currently killing the prey of the Ogres, was that the Ogres needed new targets. Fortunetly for the group (or unfortunately for the ogres), only two Ogres made their way to the group. As these monsters didn't think about tactics, they let out a sort roar and started racing for the group, one to Ouranus and one towards Arleen. Raising their dukes, they were ready for an attack and would return one in kind.

I heard the ground shaking before I actually saw what was coming, but when I did, my heart skipped a beat. It was a giant of a monster, "Ogre" being a fitting description, and possibly name. One was bounding across the plains at me, and there was another one headed to the other woman. The man was still occupied with the skolls, which was definitely not a good thing now. "Prioritize!" I took aim and shot the two skolls that were giving him so much grief, but not before I felt the air compress and what could amount to an explosion slam into my stomach, sending me flying a short ways. While I had intended to dodge it, I had apparently underestimated the beast's speed drastically. It wouldn't happen again. I stood up quickly after hitting the ground. I couldn't waste a moment against this beast, or it would all end in an instant. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [HP=98/105] ARLEEN'S HEALTH AND ABILITIES - Double Cut (Double Shot) - The user is allowed an additional regular attack. In combat Ouranus remembered her mother teaching her about movements of monsters. It was pretty simplistic in its own way. The way she explained it was that there was always going to be a bigger fish. That meant that if there were a group of monsters that should not be there, there is more than likely a much larger predator ready to strike at a moment's notice to either hunt down the smaller group or take down the travelers. Glaring at the monster, Ouranus' arm was extended with her sword pointing towards the ogre that roared at her. Her eyes narrowed as she spoke softly. "I accept your challenge ogre. Feel the full wrath of Abadon." The silver haired warrior ran head first into battle with the ogre. She had confidence that the raven haired man would be able to handle the smaller creatures. Right however the ogres were top priority.
It was clear that it was going to be poised to perform a strong attack. That only meant one thing: if its attack was going to be strong, then Ouranus' attack not only has to be stronger it has to be the first attack. She could feel the energy in her sword build up as her golden eyes flashed again. The sword's edge was parallel to her chest as she shouted. "Nirvana Strike!" As the words were shouted, the blade looked even more menacingly than before as she swung her blade hard into the monster's path.

Excalibur - Inflicts Significant non-elemental damage to a single adversary; requires four of the other Strike abilities. - 12 post cooldown (triple cooldown applied from Nirvana Strike) Nirvana Strike: This ability channels the power of both her spirit and the path of the sword that she travels. The ability amplifies the power of her elemental strike attacks, doubling their power. However, using this ability burns out her strike abilities further that it actually triples their cooldown. [2x damage of elemental sword abilities, 3x cooldown]

Jecht was about to finish the two skolls in front of him when the woman with the machina finished them off. It would appear that they had bigger worries then the dogs that had first attacked them. Honestly, Jecht couldn't remember the last time he had fought an ogre, it seemed a lifetime ago. But what he did remember, was that they were hard enemies to defeat if you were alone. Lucky for them though, they had a party a three, which made Jecht reminisce slightly about his battles with Auron and Braska. Now wasn't the time for memories, now was the time for action.
"For these weaklings, no need to prioritize!" Jecht replied, jumping into the fray against the two ogres. To be more specific, Jecht decided to fight against the ogre that had landed the hit against the gun wielding girl. As it was, she seemed to be having the most trouble against the ogre. This may be because of the fact she killed the skolls instead of fighting the ogre. Though, now that Jecht joined their battle, it should be easier to win this fight.
Delivering two quick hits against the ogre in front of him, Jecht was ready for the counterattack that he knew would come. Taking a blow in the side, Jecht was knocked away five feet to the side from the ogre's counterattack. His attack seemed to do what he wanted, as the ogre now was focused on the blitzer rather then gun wielding woman. Readying himself for the next attack from the ogre, when he took the hit he thought to himself that he still didn't like getting hit by monsters. After the hit, Jecht stood and got ready for his next attack.
As for the other ogre, after taking the strike from the heavy hitting Excalibur, it was surprised at the strength of the human in front of it. They had not expected prey this strong, but they were stubborn beasts, so they would not give up this battle. Rather, he just kept on trucking, attacking Ouranus with renewed vigor.

Keep in mind the ogre base damage of 10, I'll keep the counterattack damage at 5 though.

I smiled at the man coming to my aid, drawing the ogre's attention. It gave me just enough time to get my bearings and plan my next move. The beasts retaliated to any attacks made against them with an attack of their own. Knowing this... I leapt in to mid range of the beast and fired off a shot. The shot hit home, and I immediately braced myself, seeing the attack coming. I took to the air, flipping over the beast while delivering a punishing shot to its head. I landed behind it, feeling the adrenaline coursing through me. I needed to get clear. It always retaliated. I took off away from it, but its fist swinging around clipped my ribs, spinning me and sending me into the air slightly before I regained my balance. I had partially turned to avoid the blow, but that had failed miserably. My side was sore now, but I ignored it. "How disrespectful..." I twirled the guns in my hands, a solid frown plastered on my face. The adrenaline was drowning out the pain, but the beast was beginning to cross the line. As the fight lingers on, however, she becomes stronger. All "post" references are only considered valid posts when Arleen is in battle, thus, after 2 battle posts, Arleen gains her first boost, and so on after that. - After a warm-up in the fight (2 posts in) Arleen gains a 5% boost to damage.

Ouranus had been knocked back again from the beast, skidding on the ground again as she slammed her blade into the ground to slow down the speed of her stuck body. At first she seemed to stagger on her feet, but still she had that defiant smile on her face. It was one of the things that her father had taught her. Even if the enemy is much larger than Ouranus, the one thing that would make the enemy angrier than anything is a smile. It showed that even with massive odds there was never going to be a sign of fear, sorrow or even rage. If there was going to be a massive fight, there is going to be a smile on her face. But it wasn't one that showed she was bloodthirsty, but rather it showed that there was something she knew that the ogre didn't. Her eyes flashed again as she moved into the ogre again. As she spun her blade, she raised the sword over her head again and used a hard straight down slash to plow through the ogre. The Excalibur should have did a considerable amount of damage, so all that was left was to finish it as quickly as possible. She then had her blade crust over with stone, turning the metal weapon into a heavy and blunt stone weapon as she said in close range,"Nirvana strike." The stone became massive and as the blade went down she spun the sword in a sweeping arc to connect with the beast's head.

The ability amplifies the power of her elemental strike attacks, doubling their power. However, using this ability burns out her strike abilities further that it actually triples their cooldown. [2x damage of elemental sword abilities, 3x cooldown]
