In the distance a rather imposing man with sharp jade eyes approached the infamous city of green gold. The man had the look of a SOLDIER although his attire suggested that he was from Wutai. Gideon hadn't been back to Midgar since he left SOLDIER during the Wutai war. His feelings about the city were mixed, although it wasn't the actual city that he took issue with. It was Shinra, the greedy corporation that he once worked to protect. Midgar's security was still sloppy; Gideon's access card still worked after all this time granting him entry into the sector 5 slums. The large man was plagued with images of times long since past as he crossed the threshold, late nights at the bar after a successful mission with the guys. Looking out over the city from the SOLDIER’S lounge, riding the train he missed those things.
"Hey Midgar how you been?"[/b] He scoffed at the rhetorical question. The sun hung high in the pastel blue sky but in the slum, the sun never shines. The EX SOLIDER had never been to this sector before; there was never a reason for him to come out this way. Venturing further in something caught Gideon’s attention.”A church?”[/b] It was peculiar seeing a church in a place like this; it had a homely feel about despite its level of dilapidation, a hole in its roof was perfectly positioned to allow a ray of light to flow in from a partition in the plate above. Gideon felt drawn to it, stepping up to the decrepit door he nudged it open the hinges cricking as they went. Inside beyond the old pews at the front of the church was a garden growing in a patch of dirt void of floor boards.
Gideon’s heavy footprints echoed disturbing the quiet sanctity, stained glass eyes watching his every move.”Hm, a church with a built in garden.”[/b] Nearing the flower bed he could see that they were well taken care, someone must be tending to them every day.

"HEY, DON'T TOUCH THOSE!" Cried a very male voice as Gideon stepped towards the flowers in the center of the church. Zack fair stepped out from behind the fallen pillar on the side on them, buster sword strapped to his back and his typical SOLDIER uniform as neat as possible.
"Listen buddy, you can look at the pretty flowers but they gotta stay where they are." He said, locking onto the man with his own mako infused eyes. There was something off about this one. Normally a lot of people passed by the church, just as many stopping in to see the flowers Aerith planted and even the girl herself, but he was the first to give off such an odd vibe. Zack hadn't made 1st class by ignoring his gut feeling.

A voice called out to him forbidding he touch the flowers, the voice sounded eerily familiar. Gideon peered at the man from out the corner of his eye, immediately his noticed the man’s eyes were identical to his own, then the uniform, he was a SOLDIER FIRST CLASS. Gideon’s tree stomp of a neck craned to get a better look at the man that was referring to him, the voice sounded awfully familiar and it caused a abominable sinking feeling in the pit of his gut. Gideon looked at the man before him more closely he was very familiar Gideon felt as if he should know this person, every fiber of his being was screaming at him to remember. Suddenly a flash back of the Wutai war dominated the corridors of Gideon’s mind.
He knew who this man before him was he knew him all too well. At this Realization Gideon’s eyes glinted maliciously as a wry grin appeared on his lips.”Zack…” [/b]He spoke sullenly backing away from the flower pit with an ominous chuckle. The giant of a man’s face was partially concealed by a wily ebon mane, the lambent green of his optics smoldering over. Placing a large hand on the back of a nearby pew the chuckle ended. ”ZACK.”[/b] He spoke with an undeniable conviction, suddenly the pew was uprooted the places where it was bolted to the floor ripped apart with ease. Without warning the pew was flung at Zack with extreme prejudice. Zack was one of the contributing reasons for the fall of the once great Wutai nation Gideon’s home. Gideon was once a SOLDIER FIRST CLASS himself but defected during the war to fight alongside his countrymen against the evil corporation Shinra. Back in the day Gideon hung around a select few SOLDIERS forming a tight bond with them, one of them being Kunsel’s lazy butt. Gideon and Zack bumped into each other a couple times in the past but judging from Zack’s initial response to Gideon’s appearance in this run down church he hadn’t remembered him. [/justify]

"Zack..." The man muttered while stepping back, away from the 1st class SOLDIER. Somehow Zack seemed familiar to this guy, though he couldn't say the same about him. The man staggered backwards, gripping one of the remaining pews to steady himself.
"Hey buddy, you okay?" Zack asked a bit worried for the man. "ZACK." The man seemed to scream out as he regained himself. Zack let out a sigh of relief for a moment before turning his attention back to the man. Zack was really surprised by his next action, him ripping the pew from the floor and lifting it into the air, flinging it at the SOLDIER with great strength. Zack wasn't worried that the pew was coming at him, instead he was worried about the flowers getting damaged instead and jumped forward in front of them. In the same motion he jumped he had pulled his buster sword from his back, bringing it down in a smooth and swift slash that split the wooden bench in half. Each half of the pew flew off to either side of the room, missing both Zack and the flowers.
"Hey man, what's your deal!?"

Just hearing Zack’s voice infuriated the already livid SOLDIER. Like a true warrior Zack was able to make a split second decision securing the safety of the flowers and himself at the same time ushering out the pew in two pieces that crashed behind him. Zack retorted puzzled as if the attack was unwarranted, Gideon scoffed.”Maybe you don’t remember who I am, but I know you haven’t forgotten the Wutai war. The war you used to make a name for yourself, the war that branded the great Sephiroth a hero. You’ve may have heard of a SOLDIER defecting to fight alongside the Wutai resistance.”[/b] His great hands flared outward in gesture.”Here I am.”[/b] Gideon’s left hand reached behind him to procure the hilt of his own sword drawing out the large crystalline blade inlayed in ancient script.
It was quite similar to a buster sword in terms of size but that’s where the similarities end. The sharp flat edge of the tip of his blade drove itself into the wooden floor beside Gideon as his right hand jutted out pointing at Zack.”If it wasn’t for you three, Wutai wouldn’t be in the miserable state that it’s in!”[/b] Looking around at the church he felt that there was something significant about it, why else would Zack be in such a raggedy place?”You took something precious to me away, NOW IT’S MY TURN.”[/b] A gusto he ripped his mighty weapon from the floor and spun to his right taking out a support structure of the church causing the roof to falter and creek a beam close to the flower bed falling down. Without a moments rests the large man shot out to the other side of the church destroying another support beam causing the roof to partially collapse debris raining down haphazardly.
