The sun had began to set on Luca, casting shadows in all directions and machines reflecting the orange glow of the sun. The city was still very alive with people wandering the streets either shopping or going to the stadium for a blitzball game. Luca was a large city and it was easy to get lost in or lose someone you were traveling with. Kat looked around her at the scenery, thinking of the best way to lose her companions. She wanted to look around this place because it was familiar yet strangely different. She couldn't remember if she had ever been here before and it didn't really hold much of her attention. She sighed and looked back at the two she was traveling with. One of them she had already been with for awhile and he was useful in a fight but the other was still a wild card. Kainé. A strange and unknown person in a world she was unfamiliar with, that made her all the more dangerous, She had no ties to anyone or anything here in this combination of worlds. This one was an unknown entity and Kat would have to be very careful if she wanted to learn anything about her.
Walking a few paces behind, Kat grinned. There was a large crowd dead ahead and it would be child's play to lose people or disappear within. They were nearing the stadium and the commotion clued her in that some sort of event was going on. All the better to get lost in, she thought as she trudged her way behind them. Already she had fallen a good thirty paces behind with the closest one being Kainé, who was only ten paces ahead of her. Kat felt horrible that she was planning on disappearing on them but it was the only way she would learn anything about the person she was searching for. Somehow she would make it up to the two of them, she vowed silently as the crowd started to close in on them. A few more seconds and no one would be able to see her or the others and they would all be lost in the growing mob of people.

The city that surrounded her was captivating; unlike anything she had ever seen before. Buildings towered over the sea of people. And oh the machinery! This place.. had Gideon and Kat called it Luca? It was quite a sight to behold. Kainé craned her neck in nearly impossible angles, trying to take everything in.
She stared in awe at a large stadium-like structure just ahead of them, stopping in her tracks. Many people were pouring into the large doors and she could hear thousands of people shouting and cheering at whatever event that was being held there. Kainé wondered just what all of the commotion was about, but didn't pry into it. After all, she still wasn't comfortable with her new party members.
Kat was strict and had an "I'll-shoot-you-dead" aura about her; at least that was how Kainé felt about her. And Gideon reminded her very much of a bear. Appearing gentle and easygoing, but was a vicious warrior underneath. These were dangerous people that she was traveling with, but she supposed it was better than wandering the strange lands on her own. Surely she would have meet more peril alone than with these two. Not that danger frightened her.
Kainé watched the merry faces of the people that passed by and noted that many of the children were carrying odd looking balls. A sport common from their world perhaps?
"What do you think of all this Tyrann?" she murmured quietly so her party members wouldn't hear her. The noise from the crowd was loud enough to where barely anyone within five feet of her could hear.
There was no response from the Shade within her. Curious, she attempted to probe into her mind to search for his presence and indeed found him. Although it appeared he was "sleeping", because she heard nothing nor felt anything from him. It was.. odd.
Both she and Gideon were ahead of Kat by a little, but with this crowd it felt like miles. It felt as if they would be swallowed up and whisked away at any given moment.

The setting sun painted a beautiful scene on the sea side city. Luca was a place that Gideon had been once prior and made a lot of friends. Oddly enough it felt like a home coming of sorts. The crowd flooded the streets in droves, the only time Luca is really this busy is during a Blitzball game, up ahead the Grand and only Blitzball stadium in all of Spira showed with its brilliant lights, it was a captivating sight for Gideon. Not only was he a fan of blitzball but he had become an honorary member of the Luca Goers in his previous visit.
It was nice to finally get back to civilization, looking over at Kaine, Gideon noticed her ethusiasm as well. Maybe where she came from they didn't have such cities with tall buildings. Luca is a very interesting city indeed, it retains this almost rustic quality about it while indulging in the futuristic machinery that has been deemed acceptable by Yevon. It still seemed hypocritical to Gideon, furthermore the only types of machinery that he could notice they didn't really allow were weapons and transportation.
Looking over the crowd Gideon looked for Kat."God damn it..." If she wanted to sneak off now would be the perfect opportunity. Gideon about faced as he was consumed by the crowd looking for Kat. He spotted her distinctive red ponytail amongst the crowd but it vanished in an instant. "Now what's she up to?" Gideon wasn't too worried about losing her, more than likely whatever she was looking for was right here in Luca, and Gideon knew enough people that he felt he could pick up her trail later. Reaching out he gentlely took Kaine by the shoulder so that she wouldn't get lost in the crowd. The last thing they needed now was for a little psycho girl waving weapons around because she was pissed off because she thought she was abandoned. As long as they were in town Gideon thought he might as well show Kaine a good time until Kat surfaced. "Hey Kaine, follow me I'm gonna take you to the Blitzball stadium." The people were already starting to get rowdy, drunken men loudly chanting Luca Goers battle songs. People were throwing free blitzballs into the crowd and Gideon managed to catch one with his head, ricocheting it into the sky before catching it with his free hand. Showing off for Kaine he bounced it on his knees then popped it up with a kick catching it on his head afterwards bouncing it a couple times before allowing it to fall backwards where he kicked it back up into the air with the sole of his foot.

Kat watched as a blitzball went flying into the air. She figured it was Gideon showing off for the resident psycho they happened to be traveling with. Gideon always seemed like a friendly enough person but he was definately the womanizing type, it was clear in the way he acted around women. It didn't surprise her when he started showing off for Kainé but it served as a good enough distraction. Letting her hair down from its usual ponytail wouldn't be enough to lose the two of the for long. Time to do some shopping for a wardrobe change, she thought grimly. The attire she was wearing was comfortable but she needed more mobility or something that was designed for combat. It was easy to slip away from Gideon and Kainé, given the size of the crowd around them.
If this were just a normal trip to Luca, then getting lost in the crowd would terrify her but since she was on a mission, she ignored the feeling of being the terrified little girl against her better judgement. People always said there was safety in numbers but was that philosophy true? In this case, most likely it was because with people you aren't alone even if you feel lonely. With a friend...you'll never be alone or lonely and you'll always feel safe, she pondered but shook her head at the thought. They weren't her friends, at least...she didn't want them to be. The people closest to her always got hurt and she wasn't going to allow that, not again. "I'm sorry" she breathed as the crowd surrounded her cutting her off from her companions.

Her attention was focused on Gideon as he steered her towards the grand looking stadium, a bit surprised at his touch. It was an unusual gesture for her, as most people in her homeland would spit and hurl insults at her. Not just because she was possessed by a Shade, but also because of the body she was born with. She tensed under the male's touch, memories from the past that she had shoved away now began to flood back. However, before she was completely engulfed, she managed to shove them away from her mind once Gideon decided to participate in the festivities.
A ball similar to the ones that the local children were playing with flew over the crowd at them suddenly. Kainé prepared to knock it away, but Gideon beat her to it, headbutting it into the air. He then continued to use his feet and head to perform a few tricks, all while not letting the ball touch the ground. She looked at him a bit taken aback, but was very impressed.
"What sort of sport is that?" she asked him curiously. Then as an afterthought, she glanced about the crowd in search of Kat. Her brows furrowed once she realized that she couldn't see the woman through the vast crowd. Would the hard-@ss be okay?

Gideon caught the ball tucking it under his right arm. Kaine inquired about what kind of sport blitzball is, it was a rather difficult question to answer concisely. Blitzball was like many sports jammed into one but closely resembled rugby. ”It’s a lot like rugby just underwater.” His velvety tenor explained in a booming tone so that she could hear him over the crowd. The jade eyed man notice his companion looking around as if she was searching for something, undoubtedly she realized by now that Kat was missing. If she got separated from them it was by her own design. Gideon began to wonder at first if she would be alright, not because she couldn’t handle herself, or that she would get lost after all Luca was an integral part of her homeland so more likely than not she knew her way around. It’s just that fact that she doesn’t do well in large crowds from what he could tell. She nearly had a heart attack when Kaine joined their troupe. If she got separated and on purpose, why, what was Kat looking for? Gideon remembered asking her what she was traveling for but Kat refused to give a straight answer at the time. ”Don’t worry about her, she’ll find us later.” He reassured Kaine who he knew wouldn’t admit she was worried about Kat outright. Nevertheless, Gideon took Kaine by the hand and began to usher her towards the stadium so she wouldn’t get swallowed up by the crowd. Reaching the main entrance where the bulk of the crowd was centered Gideon took a deviating path towards a back alley where a lone door stood. It was a door used by the maintenance people and the like but the blitzball players use it to sneak in and out or occasionally sneak past the coach when they are late for practice. Getting to the door Gideon knocked on it in a sequential order as if it were Morris code. A few seconds later one of the blitzball players opened the door peaking his head. Gideon and the player greeted each other like old friends as he opened up the door wider for them to enter. Minding his manners Gideon introduced Kaine as a dear friend.

Kat weaved her way effortlessly through the crowd, making her way out of it without either of the two coming after her. It hurt her a little to leave them so soon after they had just started traveling together but it was necessary at the moment. As cold as she had been to them both, neither of them understood that it was for their sake that she was leaving them. Her absence wasn't permanent, it was only for a short while so she could do some recon.
She began wandering the street and looking for any sign of Him. He was the reason she was here in the first place and he needed to pay for everything he had done. To her companions, she wouldn't look as if she were capable of even being vengeful but vengeance wasn't her goal. It was justice. So far there was no sign that the guy had ever been here but there just had to be something. Something. Anything. Some lead that would help her on her path, even if the path she was walking ended up being carrying out this suicide mission of hers.
She had wandered around most of Luca and there was still no sign of him. What if he never made it here? the hopeful thought crossed her mind and she grinned like the teenager she was. Maybe I should leave things the way they are until we meet, then I'll carry on. The mere thought of just enjoying life the way it is put her heart at ease. She still wanted to decimate one person in particular, but that could wait. Right now, she had the strangest urge to go play blitzball and it pushed her to run to the stadium.
