She decided she needed a few days off.
This was rare for the pink Reaper, as she was never one to take a break from anything, and even rarer to be seen without Kariya. She was alone, and with no one to pester, she felt almost at a rare ease. She was too tired to chase after anyone in particular, but not too tired to stop doing anything. She'd left late in the morning without the lazy orange-haired man, since he was still sleeping, and touched down here during the afternoon.
Now, it was getting dark out, and Uzuki was getting tired of the city. While it had provided her with a few new shirts, (she'd gone shopping) it didn't compare to Shibuya in the least. She missed that town, with all of it's noise (no pun intended). Now, she wandered the streets, looking lazily at each store as she passed them by.

The sun had begun to set. Nightfall was soon approaching, yet some of the more greedy merchants sat outside waiting to make their next sale. The dark knight walked along the streets, ignoring the baleful glances he received. He exhuded an ominous aura, one that drove away most others. But his aura was nothing compared to the odd scent he detected in the air. It was as if he had walked into a field of flowers... It wasn't completely dreadful, but at the same time it was mildly offensive to the dark knight. His eyes slowly shifted across the market, until his eyes fell on a humanoid figure with pink hair. "Figures it would be a woman..." Zecht muttered quietly to himself. The woman seemed to be looking about aimlessly, much like Zecht had been doing for the majority of the day. Nonetheless, the odd looking girl was not able to hold his attention for any longer. He stopped in front of a merchant's booth, ready to purchase some gyashl pickles.
Even the vessels of darkness had to eat sometime.
After a mildly annoying time of haggling, Zecht managed to manipulatet the price down to an acceptable 5 gil. Just as he reached for his money pouch, it slipped from his fingertips and scattered gil across the floor. In a normal daytime setting, beggars and nobles alike would have scrambled for the gil... But tonight, none wished to approach the dark knight. It was often rumored that those who affiliated themselves with Dark Knights were often met with despair and death. It probably was not worth losing their lives to rob Zecht of any gil. He picked up his gil, but noticed a few coins had somehow rolled their way to the woman's feet.
"Excuse me" He said gruffly as he knelt to pick up the rest of his gil.

Uzuki looked at the man, obviously annoyed. She gave him a downward glance, kicking the change with her shoe a bit. She had no words for the guy, and so she just walked around him with nothing more than a sigh. Normally, she would just tease him and egg him on, but today, she would let him go. If only for a little while.
Walking past him, she looked at the merchants. This must be the food area, she thought, seeing all the food merchants looking at her hungrily. She wasn't in the mood to eat. All she wanted was a place to rest for the night. Then, she'd be off by morning, never to give this place another thought.

The dark knight outstretched his hand and caught the kicked coin. "Stupid woman..." he said quietly. "If you wanted to kick something so badly, find a heap of chocobo dung to bury your foot in."
Normally, Zecht would not regard such an action with even the slightest thought. However being of noble upbringing, some fragment of his memory remembered that there were certain mannerisms he could tolerate while others he held in disdain. He could care less for the reasoning of the strange feminine creature, but it was almost painfully obvious that the meager act of childishness slightly rubbed the dark knight the wrong way. Slowly, he rose to his feet.
"I suppose this is the hospitality of Alexandria..." he said tersely to himself. "Terrible food as well as a few untrained dogs mimicking humans..."
Placing the rest of his change back in his money pouch, he leered around the quickly darkening marketplace. Not a single stand contained anything to his tastes, and the foul kick infamously known to gyashl pickles began to twist his taste buds into submission. Although his composure was still externally solid, one could tell by his rapidly frantic shifts of his eyes that he quickly needed to treat his taste buds to something more pleasing. He looked in a general direction and paused. An exasperated sigh escaped from his lips...
...The brat he had just encountered stood mere feet away from a stand containing the very last bit of food left... A delicious looking tart on sale for merely 10 gil.

Uzuki didn't even care to respond to this man, just walking away without a care. She smirked, something that was quite common on the pink-haired Reaper's face. She walked as if she was queen of the world, which she might as well be, considering the trash hole this was in comparison to Composer-run Shibuya.
She began to be lost in memory of that place. Yes, it had been quite noisy, (that wasn't a pun-she was serious) but at least that had meant she had something to do. The city always had Players to harry out of their wits, and she'd been able to stay by the lazy bum 24-7. Here, that was not the case. She hated this place. Couldn't she go back to Shibuya, where there was at least the Prince? No.
She stopped the memory short as she smelled a tart, freshly baked. Now that she thought about it, maybe she'd eat something. That idea was only enforced when Zecht stared at the pastry longingly. She smirked an evil smirk. Time to have some fun. She bought the pastry quickly, then strolled up to the man with the same smirk still upon her face, "Do you want this, you worm? Beg for it."

The tension surged through every merchant present as the dark knight's pale eyes fell on the small girl who demanded he beg for a tart. Zecht's hair obscured his eyes and much of his face from vision. Slowly but surely, his entire body began to tremble... And in the silence, a gurgling sound could be heard deep in his throat. After a while, the gurgling in his throat turned into a soft chuckle. The dark knight was laughing.
"A child of puny stature presumes to call me a worm?" Zecht managed to utter between fits of laughter. "I beg of you, keep the tart, your highness!"
He then briskly brushed past her, wiping a tear from his eye. How long had it been since he had laughed like that? It was almost nostalgic, he had not laughed like that since before the darkness had engulfed his soul. Laughing like that reminded him that even with all of life's displeasure, there was nothing else more entertaining than delusions of grandeur. At least it was nice to know that the youth still had some sort of imagination.
Silly little pest... As if Zecht would roll over and die if there was no food in his belly. He had often fasted for days on end unflinchingly, what made today any different? If not for the fact that they were within city walls, he'd have skewered her for her foolishness... However, he saw no need to waste breath on a worm that thought itself a dragon. He wouldn't beg anyone for anything, even if it were to save a burning building full of infants. If she wanted attention so badly, she'd have to do much better than that.
