YOU'RE NOT SAFE, YOU'RE NOT SAFE - I COULD RUN FOR DAYS. Fang stared at them, rather the entire crowd below her. She had taken residence on the roof of one of the buildings within Archades. The night was finally clear once more and she drew in a breath, frowning slightly. The people below, they were paired up and dancing in a way she'd never even thought existed. She was mildly curious, back on Gran Pulse dances were far more intimate than this, and well they were for more ceremonial reasons than this. So, she sat on a roof and observed the square below, curious but also rather disinterested in a way. Archadian culture was quite different from the one she knew as her home. After all, things on Gran Pulse were communal, here an individual had to really work their asses off to get anywhere in the world, because instead of people helping one another it was every man for himself. It vaguely reminded her of a traveling roving tribe that once in a while visited Oerba with goods, like the Sari she had bought and wore to this day.
That tribe lived in a combination of being communal but also individuals had to make money and the like on their own or they wouldn't eat that night. Running a hand through her black hair, she continued to watch the people dance the night away. Apparently this month was supposed to celebrate love. Pshaw. Love, she loved her family and her friends more than anything in the world, why would she want to celebrate just loving one person? It was like giving one dog a bone and leaving the other to starve. Either way, this culture was starkly different than her own, and so she'd watch and learn, she'd have to in order to assimilate, and not scare the pants off of every man who lacked a little back bone. After all, if someone was afraid of a woman that had a little swagger, then well, she would be extremely concerned if say a giant monster ever decided to attack this place. Even the soldiers seemed to be a little intimidated by her. It made her smirk.
The only person on record who wasn't intimidated by her was the Judge. He had no reason to be afraid of her, which was obvious in the way they spoke much of the time. She'd gained what she'd call a friendship with the armored figure, and perhaps that was a good thing. Apparently he had status here, and apparently status was everything no matter what subject you were talking about. Looking up to the sky, she rolled her eyes, you weren't able to see the stars. Sad really, she bet that none of the people here had ever seen the stars in the sky, or ever were able to lay on their backs and try and count them all. So was the life of those who lived in the city, Fang herself was a free spirit, and despite her urges to leave the city and explore outside of the confines of Archades, she was bound here. She needed to repay the debt she owed the judge before she went off and did anything else. It was the way she was raised, if someone was giving you a roof over your head and such, you better pay them back.
Her thoughts however were interrupted, rather abruptly. Her ears picked up the sound of footsteps. Now who the hell could have found her all the way up here?
