YOU'RE NOT SAFE, YOU'RE NOT SAFE - I COULD RUN FOR DAYS. Fang was never one to wear dresses, never ever ever in her life had she worn a dress. But on the insistence of a particularly friendly Archadian woman who ushered her into her shop had found her an elegant blue dress to wear for this event. The dress was exceedingly elegant, as was Archadian style, and well, she had to admit she looked good in it, even if the confining garment was extremely uncomfortable. Hell, the woman even helped her tame her extremely wild hair into something more elegant as well. It still was rather wild but it had been brushed out to where it wasn't sticking out of every follicle in every direction. She turned to the Archadian woman and then pulled out the gil she had saved in her pouch that was with her Sari. Handing the woman a handsome sum of gil and stunning her with the amount Fang turned and walked out the door. She needed to put her Sari back in her room. So, as she walked she noted the men and woman staring, and gawking at her.
She smirked. Heh, they only wish they could have something like this. She wanted to run a hand through her hair, but it could easily mess up the woman's hard work, so out of respect for the woman she resisted the urge and after a bit of a walk and a few wrong turns ended up back in her room and residence of the Judge Magister's home. Setting her clothing neatly on the end of her bed, she then exited, back out of the home and then walked to the festivities. Fortunately her sandals matched the dress almost perfectly, so they were allowed to stay on her feet. The couples around her danced happily and talked amongst each other, the lights above her and around were lighting up the square as the dark of night set in. She almost swore she could hear the familiar melody of crickets that she loved so much as a child around her. It was nostalgic almost, the night as she looked at the stars. Maybe her date was someone fun, hopefully they were.
She wondered who her date could be in the first place. She wondered if they were a complete stranger or if she knew them already. Fang assumed the judge had put her up to this, if only to get her out of his hair for a night. So, she stood by a small table for two; with a white perfectly ironed table cloth nearby. Hopefully tonight would be fun, after all first date cant be boring if they're going to hold her interest. However, if the date was a male.. she partially felt sorry for them. She wasn't interested in that gender in particular. They never really interested her to be honest, they were to predictable and to harsh. Woman were unpredictable and much softer, something she seemed to like over the blatant harshness that a lot of men had. Either way it was what it was and she'd make the best of the night, man or woman. Gender didn't matter when it came to having a good night of laughs and just enjoying life after all.

now i see the truth, i got a doubt a different motive in your eyes and now i'm out | [cs=4][bg=DCDCDC][atrb=cellspacing,0px,true][atrb=padding,2px,true] Suits. Yep. Felt odd, definitely. He had been used to being in cargo pants and a tank top for a while, and obviously before that he was used to the weight of his Guardian Corps uniform. Still, he was getting used to it quickly, because it wasn’t stiff like a new one. Cid Raines had returned to Cocoon only a few days ago, to its turmoil and had managed to calm it down before he was informed that he had to go to this event. He had a blind date, and had to go talk to her, though he would much much much prefer a him.
So, Raines had gone over to his wardrobe and placed on black formal trousers, with polished dress shoes that were actually boots haha on his lower body. His upper consisted of a white shirt, a black tie, and a silver grey waistcoat that had been done up. He had, however, refused to button up the collar button of his shirt. He was used to exposing his neck… almost. He liked the feeling of cold air or warm air upon it.
After that, and finishing off some paperwork that he had shoved on him when he got back to Cocoon, he had gone to the festivities, and to look for who his date was. Apparently they were wearing blue, which could only mean that they were a woman, as Cid hadn’t met many men that wore all blue. It disappointed him that he would have to let the woman down if she developed an interest in him, but by telling her that he was gay she would probably take revenge if she was homophobic and spread what he said around. That would be horrible, so, he decided to say that he wasn’t interested in her. Or… something like that. Raines hadn’t actually made up a plan of what to do, he had decided to wing it.
Still, he was actually going to make the best of the night, especially if his ‘date’ was friendly.
Cid glanced about the place, his pale green eyes scanning people quickly. His fast scanning – well practised when looking for shifty figures and camouflaged monsters – immediately caught sight of his date, and a large grin made its way onto his pale face, a chuckle accompanying it as he made his way over to his date.
Oerba Yun Fang. Hell yes.
“It’s great to see you again, Fang!” Cid made himself known when he was near the woman, looking as though he was going to burst out laughing, and really, he wouldn’t be surprised if he went crazy and did so, because once or twice he started laughing loudly in his room when he was a l’Cie.
Though that might have been because he had a very funny dream.
Most likely.
